Albert Wilson a YAC Monster Worthy of High Week 7 Waiver Wire Consideration

Fresh off a 30 FP explosion, Miami WR Albert Wilson (10% owned) needs to be high on fantasy owners’ Week 7 Waiver Wire Radars. The speedster turned his 9 targets into six catches, 155 yards and two TDs, the vast majority of which came after the catch. Yes, many label him a boom-or-bust style guy, and they’re not necessarily wrong. Yet, despite trailing both Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola in offensive snaps, Wilson ranks first in receptions (32), yardage (359), and scores (4). Though he’s unlikely to top this outburst, Wilson’s role seems likely to only grow further. He’ll bring week-swinging upside to FLEX spots, and is worth a quality waiver bid.

In fact, Wilson’s topped double-digit FPs in 3/6 contests (12, 20.4, and 30), something “No.1” Stills has done just once since Week 1. At minimum, these two should be swapped in your Rest of Season WR Rankings.

As was clear on his 75 and 43 yard scores, Wilson has excellent run-vision and breakaway ability. On both scores, he took small dump offs the distance by making a few men miss and then hitting his 4.43 speed gear quickly.

These type of plays prove Wilson is a perfect for Adam Gase‘s screen-heavy game that prioritizes high-percentage plays and run-after-catch chances. No wonder Gase shelled out what seemed to be an absurd $14.5 milion for Wilson, who was also highly-coveted by screen-game maestro Matt Nagy. Moreover, it’s no coincidence Wilson’s highest 2018 usage came while the team was trying to protect Brock Osweiler, who seems to have forged that coveted “second-team bond” with Wilson. With Ryan Tannehill’s timetable currently “playing again in 2018,” Osweiler seems bound for more starts.

In sum, many will label Wilson too boom-or-bust to pay up for. While Wilson is bound for some duds, this pass-catching corps isn’t nearly as “crowded” as the other sites make it sound. Gase is a bright-enough offensive mind to ride what’s working, and that’s clearly Wilson. He’s worth a stash, at minimum.

Christian Kirk is a High-Priority Waiver Wire Option as Josh Rosen’s Primary Target

Rookie speedster Christian Kirk has formed quite the rapport with fellow rookie signal caller, Josh Rosen. Kirk, who grew up in Arizona and was photographed as a youngster with his idol, Larry Fitzgerald, has led the Cardinals in receiving for the third time in four weeks. In Week 6 against the Vikings, Kirk caught six of seven targets for 77 yards. Kirk didn’t find the end zone this week, but his elite speed gives him the chance to take it the distance on any given reception — as was apparent on his 75-yard score in Week 5.

Although the stat-line didn’t look like much, Kirk’s consistency and consistency with Rosen makes him a must-add on the Week 7 Waiver Wire. The rookie ranks eighth in the league with an impressive 80.65 percent catch rate, catching a whopping 25 of his 31 targets for 311 yards and a touchdown. What makes his production even more impressive is that he’s technically playing out of position. Kirk mostly manned the slot at Texas A&M, and is currently stuck behind his idol, who just so happens to still be one of the premiere slot wideouts in the game. Kirk is still available in 86 percent of leagues and should be a high priority add this week.

Frank Gore Tops 100 Yards, Proves to be the More Trustworthy Option Over Kenyan Drake

Following a dominant and play-making preseason from Kenyan Drake, he’s been rendered useless so far during the regular season. Unable to shake Frank Gore’s corpse, the former ‘Bama back was firmly in Adam Gase’s dog house, registering only four touches in what should have been a blow-up spot against the Patriots defense. Gase told us repeatedly in the preseason that the speedy running back would be used in multiple ways, and would “bust out,” but he has taken a complete 180 when it comes to Drake’s usage. Out of all of the preseason “coach speak” this might be the most egregious of all.

Last week we highlighted Drake as a “stock down,” but also a potential buy-low candidate. He was about to face a defense that looked slow as molasses through the first three weeks and one that he carved up last season. What makes matters worse is that the Dolphins were behind on the scoreboard the entire afternoon, which should have given Drake the chance to rack up some garbage time receptions and maybe a score at the end of the game — which went to Gore instead. It’s not like Gore really did much, as the Dolphins only ran a high school-esque 49 plays, but it’s just mind blowing that Drake has entered Jay Ajayi territory under Gase — which is frightening. There must be something going on behind the scenes or in the locker room. Although we told you to buy-low on Drake last week, it might be a good idea to just stay away at this point.

Colts WR Chester Rogers Racks Up Garbage Time Stats in Familiar Script

Chester Rogers caught 4-of-10 targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Colts’ Week 6 loss to the Jets. Rogers got off to an excruciating start with multiple dropped passes. He salvaged his fantasy bottom line on a 17-yard garbage-time touchdown with Indianapolis down multiple scores. Nevertheless, Rogers is suddenly in prime fantasy position as the Colts lost another key pass-catchers to injury on Sunday, highlighted by Ryan Grant (ankle). With double-digit targets in three straight games, Rogers will be a fantasy starter in Week 7 versus Buffalo.

The injury bug is generally a very cruel individual, but when a door closes for one it opens for another. Chester Rogers has fully taken advantage of all these injuries for Colts pass-catchers the past few weeks. As we’ve mentioned above, Rogers has drawn double digit targets in three straight games and caught his first touchdown of the year on Sunday. With TY HiltonJack Doyle and now Ryan Grant dealing with their injuries, Rogers appears to be the target hog in this Colts offense — along with Eric Ebron. Add in the the fact that the Colts are on a historic pace passing attempt wise, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of Andrew Luck slowing down. Rogers immediately becomes WR3/Flex worthy with these injuries and Luck’s historic pass attempts.
