Why Antonio Williams, Eli Stowers Feature as Immediate Fantasy Football Impact Players from NFL Draft Day 2

Now that the dust has settled for nearly two months following this year’s NFL Draft, Roto Street Journal has had the opportunity to go round-by-round evaluating the best immediate impact players in fantasy football formats.

Anyone can argue and point fingers at the teams that dropped the ball or made questionable picks, but it’s much more challenging – yet beneficial – to stand up and say who the best players are for your upcoming fantasy team(s).

In this series, you might think “yeah, no brainer” about choices in the first few rounds. But we’re hoping you say “who?” when we tell you to draft a tight end from round six in the final round of your draft and win your league championship. Remember Sam LaPorta? If you listened to me on why he was the best steal as a rookie, you lapped your competition at his position as early as Week 2.

This article features day two. Missed day one? You can catch up here.

Eli Stowers, Philadelphia Eagles (No. 54 overall)

Longtime Eagles vet Dallas Goedert worked out a one-year deal to stay in Philadelphia. And while many analysts are calling Eli Stowers a development project waiting in the wings behind Goedert, that’s not all he is.

Stowers is probably best known for his run-after-the-catch talent and success in the short field. His current struggles in blocking may be a benefit for fantasy owners, as Grant Calcaterra would be asked to block regardless of whether the Eagles offense is in two- or three-tight-end sets.

With the number of implants that Philadelphia acquired in the offseason, it’ll be a fight on an even playing field of who can prove it going into the season.

Furthermore, it’s important to note that Goedert averaged the highest fantasy points of his career in 2025, but he really has nowhere to go but down in the seasons to come. Sorry, Dallas.

His 12.3 PPR and 8.3 non-PPR were bolstered by his 11 touchdowns, which were more than double his previous career-high (five). Otherwise, he only averaged a little more than five targets per game last season.

Stowers also has the chance to step in for Goedert, who has proven to be a little injury-prone, only playing a complete season his rookie year. Goedert played in 12 games in 2022 (shoulder, injured reserve), 14 in 2023 (arm fracture) and 10 in 2024 (hamstring). He also missed games last season again due to his hamstring, but still played in 15.

Stowers is not projected to be drafted in redraft, according to Fantasy Pros, but goes in the middle of round two in rookie drafts and the later rounds of deeper dynasty and keeper leagues.

Antonio Williams, Washington Commanders (No. 71 overall)

Antonio Williams has the chance to be the No. 2 receiver in Washington as a rookie. When Washington took a receiver in the third round, it was a little confusing, but behind Terry McLaurin, Williams’ competition isn’t very contested.

Williams brings speed to the NFL that opens up his game to all three levels of the field. It’s not top speed, but it’s enough to show different looks to cornerbacks and readjust routes when needed. His ability to work all three field levels is not a taught talent, pointing to the Clemson wideout’s consistency in college.

Out of the deep depth chart the Commanders currently have, Dyami Brown is actually his biggest playing time threat.

Brown re-signed back in Washington and is a little bit of a favorite to management. Washington traded away Jahan Dotson, instead of Brown, just a few years ago and continuously gave him red zone opportunities. While Brown was not the odd man out in Washington, he was in Jacksonville, which is likely why he came back to familiar faces.

But Treylon Burks and tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo, who should make the 53-man roster, shouldn’t factor into Williams’ playing time; if anything, they’ll compete with each other. Same with Luke McCaffrey, who sported his athleticism with highlight reel catches one season ago, but never factored enough in the short or long-field to warrant a solidified starting spot.

Williams is teetering on being drafted late or undrafted, according to Fantasy Pros. League size and format will really play a factor here, as he is currently projected to the back of Round 16 in redraft. Williams does look like a middle of round two guy in rookie drafts, while the outlook on dynasty and keeper remains up in the air.
