Makai Lemon Fantasy Outlook: Eagles’ New Weapon With Dynasty Stud & 2026 Redraft Upside

Makai Lemon fantasy football dynasty outlook
Makai Lemon is officially a member of the Eagles, but what does that mean for his fantasy outlook?

Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books, and after 32 picks, 10 “fantasy-relevant” rookies have found their homes in the NFL.

Carnell Tate is heading to the Tennessee Titans. Jeremiyah Love will be tasked with injecting some life into the Arizona Cardinals’ ground game. Ty Simpson has officially been tabbed as the successor to Matthew Stafford in Los Angeles.

While each of those picks present fantasy managers with a unique situation to evaluate, the arrival of Makai Lemon in Philadelphia is arguably the most interesting, for more reasons than one.

Introduction: Makai Lemon Fantasy Outlook With The Philadelphia Eagles

Lemon’s Eagles tenure began with a shock of sorts. He was on the phone with Omar Khan and the Steelers when Philly traded up to leapfrog Pittsburgh and snatch him.

Lemon’s addition to the Eagles’ offense also adds fuel to the fire of the A.J. Brown trade rumors.

At this point, a post-June 1 trade seems all but guaranteed, which would theoretically open the door for the rookie to assume WR2 duties opposite DeVonta Smith.

While we won’t have clarity on the Brown situation for a handful of weeks, let’s take a closer look at Lemon’s fantasy outlook with the Eagles.

Makai Lemon Prospect Profile and Scouting Report

Lemon, the 2025 Biletnikoff Award winner, enters the NFL with a profile that appears to be incredibly fantasy-friendly.

During his time at USC, he was a target hog and quite efficient when he was on the field.

In 2025, he drew 108 targets on 369 routes (0.29 TPRR) and posted 3.13 YPRR.

Over the course of his three-year career, he held averages of >3.00 YPRR against both man and zone coverage, which places him in some impressive company.

Beyond the numbers, Lemon is a savvy route runner and sure-handed slot weapon who can make an impact at every level of the field.

He can generate separation with ease, which bodes well for his ability to command meaningful volume at the next level.

That target-earning ability, combined with his downfield ball skills, points to a receiver with an incredibly appealing floor-ceiling combo.

The one real concern is his label as a “slot-only” receiver.

70.6 percent of his routes last season came out of the slot, and his career mark sits at 75.6 percent.

If that slot-heavy usage follows him to the NFL, his route volume and overall ceiling could be capped.

Realistically, though, that’s only something redraft managers and best ball drafters should be considering.

If you’re a dynasty manager who’s sipping the Lemon-flavored Kool-Aid, this is a two-part equation:

  1. The first-round draft capital signals that the Eagles will almost certainly give him an opportunity to function as an every-down receiver at some point over the next few years, if not as early as 2026.
  2. You’re already bought into the talent, so you should operate under the assumption that he’ll find success when he makes the transition, a la Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

But now, let’s dive a bit deeper into his fit with the Eagles.

Makai Lemon Fantasy Outlook With the Philadelphia Eagles

First, a quick look at the offensive environment in Philadelphia.

Eagles’ Offensive Environment

The Eagles’ offense rightfully received its fair share of criticism in 2025. Despite having more firepower than any other team in the league, they ranked just 19th in scoring, 24th in total offense, and 17th in EPA per play.

On more than one occasion, Jalen Hurts failed to complete a pass for the entirety of the second half.

Whether you pin that lackluster offensive play on Hurts, since-fired OC Kevin Patullo, a banged-up offensive line, or the “vibes” in the locker room, the fact of the matter is that the offense underwhelmed to a significant degree last season.

Still, we all know that this core is capable of delivering fireworks when it’s firing on all cylinders.

In the three years prior to last season, Philly held a top-10 scoring offense each year, while supporting three top-12 finishes (PPG) for Brown and three top-20 finishes for Smith.

With a quality offensive line in place and All-Pro talent at the skill positions, it would be no surprise if this offense is sustaining drives and finding the endzone quite regularly next season, both of which would clearly benefit Lemon.

Target Competition in Philadelphia: A.J. Brown Situation

Unfortunately for many dynasty managers, the question of the target competition that Lemon will be facing won’t be resolved until the summer.

However, once again, all signs point to Brown being shipped off at some point this summer. We have the reports of the trade being likely to happen, as well as the addition of both Lemon and Dontayvion Wicks.

A faction of the fantasy community has an unwavering love of Wicks, but Lemon is the clear-cut favorite to operate as the No. 2 receiver behind Smith, at least from a target-earning perspective.

Looking at Smith in particular, there has been talk of him taking a step forward into stardom next season, but he doesn’t present an insurmountable hurdle to targets.

He’s never posted a TPRR mark greater than 0.26, and that number has fallen below 0.24 in each of the last two seasons.

It’s important to understand the context of the situation, though. Smith has been competing for targets with an All-Pro receiver in Brown and a quality tight end in Dallas Goedert.

Still, Lemon isn’t entering a situation where he’ll be competing with a receiver who’s a shoo-in to have the ball thrown their way on 28 percent of routes.

Consistent volume is certainly attainable, assuming Brown is out of the picture.

Makai Lemon’s Fit With Jalen Hurts

One smaller factor to consider is Lemon’s fit alongside Hurts. Unfortunately, they don’t “win” in the same areas of the field.

Lemon gets the job done over the middle, while Hurts’ preference to work outside the numbers is well-documented.

This could lead to some bumps in the road early on, and is generally noteworthy, but once again, if you’ve bought into the talent, this should be a deciding factor.

Summary: Makai Lemon Fantasy Football Value

Lemon’s situation comes with a bit more nuance than some of the other receivers in this class. Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson will face far inferior target competition, but the ceiling of their respective offenses is far lower.

Although there are several moving parts, his current value is fairly straightforward.

In dynasty rookie drafts, he’s an obvious upper-tier prospect who should be going no lower than the 1.04. He’s quite clearly behind Jeremiyah Love, while there’s a case to be made for either Tate or Tyson slipping below him.

In redraft and best ball, he should be viewed as a frisky WR3 or flex option.

There are certainly a few short-term question marks, but the offense has a real ceiling, and it’s difficult to ignore Lemon’s collegiate analytical profile.
