Colts WR Chester Rogers Racks Up Garbage Time Stats in Familiar Script

The injuries keep mounting for the Colts, leaving Chester Rogers near the top of the target totem pole.

Chester Rogers caught 4-of-10 targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Colts’ Week 6 loss to the Jets. Rogers got off to an excruciating start with multiple dropped passes. He salvaged his fantasy bottom line on a 17-yard garbage-time touchdown with Indianapolis down multiple scores. Nevertheless, Rogers is suddenly in prime fantasy position as the Colts lost another key pass-catchers to injury on Sunday, highlighted by Ryan Grant (ankle). With double-digit targets in three straight games, Rogers will be a fantasy starter in Week 7 versus Buffalo.

The injury bug is generally a very cruel individual, but when a door closes for one it opens for another. Chester Rogers has fully taken advantage of all these injuries for Colts pass-catchers the past few weeks. As we’ve mentioned above, Rogers has drawn double digit targets in three straight games and caught his first touchdown of the year on Sunday. With TY Hilton, Jack Doyle and now Ryan Grant dealing with their injuries, Rogers appears to be the target hog in this Colts offense — along with Eric Ebron. Add in the the fact that the Colts are on a historic pace passing attempt wise, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of Andrew Luck slowing down. Rogers immediately becomes WR3/Flex worthy with these injuries and Luck’s historic pass attempts.
