A lot of the top teams are either on bye or are off the main slate this week so our work is cut out for us. Make sure to tune into The Fantasy Tailgate every Sunday at 11 AM EST for last-minute advice as a lot happens between writing this now and Sunday morning.

Anyways, onto the DraftKings NFL Week 7 Picks and Sleepers

Let’s ride.

QUARTERBACKS:

Home Is Where The Kyler Murray Is, As Cardinals Blast Cowboys

  • Kyler Murray ($7,100)
    • With all the top Week 7 QB’s finding themselves in juicy matchups, give me Kyler against Seattle. Despite Murray’s lackluster Week 6 performance through the air, Seattle has given up the most points to opposing QBs. Kyler will find himself in a shootout here, and his rushing upside raises his ceiling up above other QBs in the price range.
  • Justin Herbert ($6,400)
    • The rookie has been lights out as the starter so far and will now find no easier matchup than this week against Jacksonville. Their ‘defense,’ if you can call it that, has been bleeding yards and points all season. Herbert flirts around the 300-yard mark weekly and has seen a big uptick in his passing touchdown numbers over his last two performances.
  • Joe Burrow ($5,500)
    • A little surprised to see him this low priced against the Browns. Burrow has thrown for 300+ in four of six games and has an arsenal of receivers at his disposal to exploit this defense. Aside from his stinker in Baltimore, Burrow has shown he can put up respectable numbers week in and week out.

RUNNING BACKS:

Packers to work out Aaron Jones' twin brother once he clears COVID-19 protocol, per report - CBSSports.com

  • Alvin Kamara ($7,900)
    • Facing the Carolina defense that gives up the most fantasy points to opposing RBs, Kamara has seen crazy usage in New Orleans’ offense. The return of Michael Thomas could dip his receiving numbers a bit, but he’ll still have 15+ touches against a very beatable defense this week.
  • Aaron Jones ($7,200)
    • Jones’ salary dipped a bit after the low usage game during a blowout loss to the Bucs. However, he looks poised to bounce back against a very bad Texans defense. This game has a ton of scoring potential, and Jones’ increased role in the passing game makes him even more attractive.
  • Joe Mixon ($6,300)
    • While the production hasn’t been at RB1 levels for Mixon, his usage and workload are very encouraging. He’s averaging 20 carries per game while mixing in some receiving work. Gio Bernard vultured a touchdown from him last week, but Mixon faces off against one of the worst run defenses in the league in Cleveland.
  • David Johnson ($5,300)
    • DJ’s yet to have a monster game this season, but if there’s an opportunity for it, this could be the week. Green Bay’s run defense has been atrocious, and we just saw Ronald Jones carve them up effortlessly. Johnson has been the workhorse in Houston and he seems due for a day here.
  • Justin Jackson ($4,900)
    • When Austin Ekeler went down with an injury we all waited to see how the new backfield would unfold. Jackson ended up being the RB1 in LA, out-snapping and out-carrying Joshua Kelley. Now Jackson gets to reap the rewards of the Jaguars run defense. The same defense that was gashed by 80-year-old Adrian Peterson and DeAndre Swift. With another game of 20 touches, Jackson would be unreal value this week.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

Detroit Lions 2020 Team Preview: Kenny Golladay's status as top WR is safe

  • DeAndre Hopkins ($8,200)
    • The target hog of the Air Raid offense. Hopkins has been a machine and now faces the league’s worst pass defense (in terms of fantasy points allowed) in Seattle for a shootout. D-Hop and Kyler were a bit off against Dallas, but they’ll right the ship in order to go toe-to-toe with Russ in Seattle. Christian Kirk ($4,900) is a very nice pivot play.
  • DK Metcalf ($7,200)
    • If we’re looking to stack Cardinals guys, run it back with Metcalf while you’re at it. This freak of nature is taking the league by storm and defenses are unable to contain him. He’s been a touchdown machine, scoring in all but one game so far.
  • Kenny Golladay ($6,700)
    • It’s been the Kenny G show in Detroit this year, and I’ve yet to list a Lions player so far facing the awful Falcons. He’s averaging 17 DK ppg, and has yet to have that huge blowup spot going for 100+ and a score. This week looks like an ideal time. Marvin Jones ($4,400) is the pivot play, and not going to lie, this tweet has me thinking.
  • Terry McLaurin ($5,800)
    • Despite how gross this game is likely to be, the stars are aligning for McLaurin to thrive against such a bad Cowboys defense. A target hog in the offense, McLaurin should put a beating on this secondary as long as his QB is capable of getting him the ball.
  • Brandin Cooks ($5,200)
    • There are a pair of Bengals receivers in this price range who are great options, but I need to highlight Cooks for this week. First off, the matchup is way better seeing as this is projected to be the highest-scoring game of the week. Green Bay has a shutdown corner in Jaire Alexander, but he’s likely to draw the assignment of Will Fuller. This leaves Cooks to run wild out of the slot, and he’s been on fire ever since Bill O’Brien was fired. 17-229-2 in the two-game span with 21 targets in the post-BOB era.
  • Mike Williams ($4,700)
    • With Keenan Allen banged up, Mike Williams balled out against the Saints in Week 5. When healthy, he’s showed his talent is off the charts and can be a reliable weapon for Herbert and the Chargers. An air yards beast, Williams offers good value against a bad defense.

TIGHT ENDS:

  • TJ Hockenson ($5,100)
    • This year the Falcons have surrendered the following points to TEs: 12.4 (Greg Olsen), 22.8 (Dalton Schultz), 24.0 (Jimmy Graham), 33.8 (Robert Tonyan), and 11.5 (Irv Smith Jr). Just a point factory to the position.
  • Hunter Henry ($4,500)
    • Double-digit DK points in every game this year but one, Henry has been super consistent and reliable in 2020. As you can tell by now, I’m targeting the Jaguars’ porous defense in Week 7. The ceiling might not be as high as other guys, but his floor is absurdly higher than most.
  • Anthony Firkser ($3,000)
    • All dependent on Jonnu Smith’s injury this week, but should Firkser thrust into the TE1 role, he’ll once again play a huge part of the offense. He finished with 8-113-1 on 9 targets last week.

DST:

  • Buffalo Bills ($4,700)
    • The Bills, coming off two straight losses, play the Jets. The ultimate bounce-back spot.
  • Los Angeles Chargers ($3,400)
    • A Charger in every category. While Jacksonville gives up points on defense, their offense also turns the ball over and lets up a high number of sacks on a weekly basis.
  • Washington Football Team ($2,500)
    • I don’t love it, but this game has one of the lowest totals of the week and Dalton looked miserable on Monday night.
