2026 NFL Training Camp is underway, and fantasy football managers are already obsessing over every snap, injury report, and viral highlight from beat reporters with all 32 teams.

IT’S MORE THAN RICKY PEARSALL, FOLKS: WHAT OTHER 49ERS ARE DEALING WITH INJURIES?
Like clockwork, San Francisco is dealing with a slew of injuries.
Wide receivers Mike Evans (quad), Christian Kirk (calf), De’Zhaun Stribling (hamstring), tight end George Kittle (Achilles), and running backs Jordan James (ribs) and Kaelon Black (adductor) are all on the injury list as of Monday. The good news? At least they’re not Ricky Pearsall, who is already done for the season.
And that’s just the offensive side of the ball.
Pearsall, who was truly only healthy in three of the nine games he appeared in last season, is indeed out for all of 2026. We speculated the surgery possibility last week, but the 49ers made it official over the weekend.
The biggest name on this list is undoubtedly Evans.
The 32-year-old is in his first season with the 49ers after spending the previous 12 in Tampa Bay. Evans also has an injury history, missing games due to a hamstring-related injury more often than not in his career. He also suffered a gnarly shoulder clavicle fracture last season that caused him to miss the most games during one season of his career (five).
Sporting a high injury risk of approximately 65% heading into 2026, the camp quad injury should raise more than one eyebrow.
Meanwhile, Kirk, who was acquired this offseason to add to the receiver room, is missing the chance to earn a starting spot and rapport with quarterback Brock Purdy.
Once given a 4-year, $72 million deal with Jacksonville, Kirk is living up to the critics who said he wasn’t worth anywhere close to that number in 2022.
Additionally, the rookie Stribling is also experiencing a rapport problem.
Stribling is dealing with one of the most career-feared injuries already: the hamstring. Fantasy owners should monitor the length of time Stribling misses camp. Hamstring injuries often are not one-and-done, and for a rookie trying to earn snaps, this is even more significant.
Furthermore, Jones remains sidelined after taking a hit from teammate Fred Warner last week. And while Black is missing time, he hasn’t been tabbed with the ‘indefinitely’ sticker that Jones currently has.
Finally, Kittle’s injury is not new. But what we did learn is that he is aiming for a Week 1 return, and it feels realistic.
PANTHERS DODGE QUESTIONS ON BRYCE YOUNG’S FUTURE WITH PANTHERS
Panthers GM Brandt Tillis said Bryce Young’s ceiling remains “unknown” as the signal-caller enters his fourth NFL season and final season of his rookie deal.
That shouldn’t make fantasy managers feel good knowing that team’s usually try and lock up their top draft picks in their next contracts around this time frame of their career.
“We will just see how the year plays out,” Tillis told reporters on Monday. “I think we are all really excited for what Bryce (Young) is going to show and how the team is going to do.”
However, Tillis dodged the question about when contract talks would start or resume, saying that topic is an internal discussion only.
Young has faced next to no quarterback competition through three seasons, yet still lost his starting job to veteran Andy Dalton in 2024. He only relinquished the role when Dalton suffered a broken thumb that sidelined him for weeks. Only then did Young “do enough” to keep the role.
It can be argued that he was the better performer last season, but that’s a small sample in an already small sample size.
Sure, Young led Carolina to a division title for the first time since 2015. But they won a three-way tie between Tampa Bay, New Orleans and itself. The team even lost its win-and-in game and had to wait for a hopeful Bucs loss even to win the division.
In his best season, Young was the No. 19 fantasy quarterback with a 63.6 quarterback rating and a 23:11 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The 23 touchdowns were HALF of what MVP Matthew Stafford threw last season.
FANTASY FOOTBALL NOTES FROM AROUND THE LEAGUE
