2026 Fantasy Baseball Buy Low, Sell High (Week 9): Trade for Eury Perez, Aaron Nola; Sell Freddy Peralta, Connelly Early

Welcome to our weekly 2026 Fantasy Baseball Buy Low, Sell High column. We will help you identify the top 2026 fantasy baseball trades to make in any given week. We’re going to outline three buy-lows and three sell-highs for Fantasy Baseball Week 9.

The key here is that we’ve carefully selected these recommendations to make sure that they’re reasonable. I’m not going to suggest that you buy low on a superstar who is off to a slow start, because it’s highly unlikely your leaguemate will accept an offer like that. The same goes for sell-highs: they won’t be obvious regression candidates. But if I do, I’ll be sure to have a reasonable trade offer for you to send.

With that in mind, find out why I’m buying low on Eury Perez, Aaron Nola, and Reid Detmers, while selling high on Freddy Peralta, Michael King, and Connelly Early. Remember, buy lows *need* to come at discounts, while sell highs *must* get you more than you would have before the season.

WEEK 8 FANTASY BASEBALL BUY LOW TARGETS

Eury Perez (SP – MIA)

Eury Perez has been one of the most disappointing pitchers in MLB this season, putting up a 5.33 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP with a 25.2% strikeout rate and a 12.2% walk rate in 52.1 innings.

But here’s the thing: the stuff remains elite. Perez has a 116 Stuff+ this season, which ranks 3rd in MLB, behind Cristopher Sanchez and Jacob Misiorowski.

While the surface stats are bad, the 4.23 SIERA indicates that Perez deserves better results than what he’s gotten so far.

The issue here has been the command (90 Location+). But if he can get into a rhythm, we can see a quick turnaround. With how poorly his numbers are, you can likely get Perez for cheap. I’d flip Connelly Early for him.

Aaron Nola (SP – PHI)

Aaron Nola continues to put a torch to your ratios, putting up a 6.04 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP with a 22.8% strikeout rate and an 8.0% walk rate in 50.2 innings.

However, there’s no decline in stuff, as highlighted by a 105 Stuff+, which is actually better than last season (102 Stuff+).

Nola has an unsustainable .356 BABIP right now, which is by far the highest of his career. His 3.90 SIERA is much better than his 6.04 ERA.

You can get Nola off your waiver wire right now in many leagues. It’s the perfect buy-low on an underperforming veteran with a track record.

Reid Detmers (SP – LAA)

Reid Detmers has registered a 5.07 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP with a 25.4% strikeout rate and a 7.9% walk rate in 55 innings.

The numbers are very underwhelming, but the underlying metrics point to positive regression: Detmers has a 3.64 SIERA, which is much lower than his 5.07 ERA.

While there are definitely going to be some blowup starts, and playing for the Angels isn’t going to provide many opportunities for wins, Detmers still looks like a viable buy-low.

Like with Nola, there’s a reasonable chance that you can grab him off your waiver wire right now.

WEEK 9 FANTASY BASEBALL SELL HIGH PLAYERS

Freddy Peralta (SP – NYM)

Freddy Peralta currently has a 3.31 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP with a 23.2% strikeout rate and a 10.7% walk rate in 54.1 innings.

I’m concerned that his K% has fallen by five percent, while his BB% has increased by 1.8%.

Peralta simply isn’t missing bats as much anymore, as his swinging-strike rate has gone from 12.9% to 11.8%. We see this reflected in his 95 Stuff+, which is a significant decrease from 99 Stuff+ last year.

It might be a good idea to flip Peralta right now, since his low ERA is a bit of a mirage.

Michael King (SP – SDP)

Michael King is putting up a 2.31 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP with a 25.8% strikeout rate and a 10.5% walk rate in 58.1 innings.

What I’m concerned about is his 3.82 SIERA is much higher than his 2.31 ERA. The command has been an issue (99 Location+), while his Stuff+ has declined from 101 to 95.

With that in mind, it may be a good time to capitalize on King’s low ERA to see what you can get on the trade market.

You’re likely going to see some rough outings, especially with that 10.5% walk rate.

Connelly Early (SP – BOS)

Connelly Early is a touted prospect who is performing well in his first year. I have high hopes for him long-term, but it may be a good time to sell high.

Despite his 3.33 ERA, underlying metrics suggest that he deserves worse, as highlighted by a 4.06 SIERA.

The strikeout rate has been disappointing at 22.1%, especially since he was over 35% in the minors.

I’d try to flip Early for Eury if you can. The Marlins’ right-hander has more strikeout upside.

Summary: Week 9 Fantasy Baseball Buy Low Sell High

Although the season is young, savvy 2026 Fantasy Baseball managers are scouring the waiver wire and plotting the right trade strings to pull. Making the right 2026 Fantasy Baseball Buy Lows and Sell Highs this early can be a massive advantage. As such, buying low on Eury Perez, Aaron Nola, and Reid Detmers could land you some undervalued production before they heat up and hit their true ceilings. Meanwhile, Freddy Peralta, Michael King, and Connelly Early could all be peaking, and make strong sell highs.
