Is Jordan Howard the New LeGarrette Blount?

It looks like touchdowns or nothin' for Jordan Howard.

Jordan Howard scrounged up 21 yards on 11 carries while securing his lone target for an 11-yard gain Sunday in Chicago’s Week 10 win over the Lions.

Sunday spelled an end to Howard’s three-game touchdown streak. Tarik Cohen out-touched Howard by a commanding 11-2 margin in the first half and was even featured on the goal line. Howard took on more work with Chicago looking to kill clock in the second half, but obviously he wasn’t able to take advantage. The third-year back has been lousy as a ball-carrier recently, averaging an underwhelming 3.13 yards per carry over his last four games. He’ll be a touchdown-or-bust RB2 when the Vikings come to town in Week 11.

Bears RB Jordan Howard finds himself in awkward territory as he now becomes a touchdown dependent back. He’s not involved in the passing game as Tarik Cohen is the clear option. Howard is also struggling to convert on his rushing attempts with a pretty lousy 3.4 ypc. He’s become touchdown dependent in the offense, and will only be favored in run heavy scripts against weaker opponents. With back to back games against the Vikings and Lions once again, this stretch seems to favor Cohen much more, while you’re left praying for the Bears to make it to the goal line hoping they put in Howard for a short yardage plunge. And even then, he’s no guarantee to see those carries over Cohen.
