Fantasy Football Stock Report: Rob Gronkowski leaves Patriots practice early

Every morning we compile the most important fantasy football links of the day for you to stay up-to-date and ahead of your fantasy opponents… This is your number one place for beat writer blabber, injury news, transaction tracking, and fantasy analysis from the experts who taught us a thing or two.

Given Gronk’s past injury history, all of Patriots nation let out a collective *Gasp* followed by sheer silence upon seeing/hearing this news. Gronk is the most important player in the Patriots offense and is a Round 1 lock in Fantasy Leagues across America. With any reported “injury” so to say, you must take these with a grain of salt. More information will come out in the next few days, but from the initial looks of this it doesn’t appear to be anything serious. Any time an elite fantasy product misses time in practice, shock waves erupt. Don’t move Gronk down your draft boards unless something drastic comes up in the future.

UPDATE:

And once again, Patriots fans and fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief.

Speaking of injuries with elite fantasy talent, Ezekiel Elliott returned to practice today. The sight of him taking first team reps again is fantastic news for fantasy owners as Elliott is expected to come out of the gates hot behind that elite Cowboys offensive line. Any doubts or thoughts you had about moving Elliott down your rankings can be erased. Zeke is another first round lock in fantasy drafts.

After our recent RSJ article promoting Latavius Murray in the middle rounds, this news is music to our ears. Murray has another great offensive line to run behind, and with Del Rio looking to feed Murray even more, his stock should be rising steadily. The whole Raiders offense is predicted by many to make a significant jump in fantasy production, so look to snag this Oakland running back before it’s too late. His ROI should be promising.

” Is Tannehill getting ball out as quickly as you want? “No. I don’t think anything is as quick as we want. Nothing – the protection, the run game, the pass game, the routes, nothing is as quick as we want. That has to all speed up if we want to get where we want to go. Especially the up-tempo and some of those things all have to become second nature. I hope in the next two weeks, we start seeing the results.” – Clyde Christensen (OC)

Barry Jackson – Miami Herald

It looks like Tannehill and the Dolphins offense are not performing up to standards at the moment and their offensive coordinator isn’t happy about it. Tannehill offers more late/end of draft upside from the QB spot so his stock really isn’t effected that much. The real hit this could take on is Jarvis Landry and Devante Parker if the offensive issues keep up. This doesn’t sound like something to drastically lower their draft stock, but it is one thing to keep an eye on, especially in Parker’s instance since he is expected to have a huge jump in production this season.

Quick Hits:

  • Patriots receiver Malcolm Mitchell was somehow back at practice today just days after a nasty elbow injury. I still can’t process this.
  • Colin Kaepernick is reportedly dealing with “dead arm”. Kind of important for an NFL QB to have a working arm
  • The Ladarius Green situation in Pittsburgh still has no definitive answer and is one of the stranger stories this preseason
  • Thomas Rawls returned to Seahawks practice as he looks to hold off a “surging” Christine Michael
