Report: Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott bracing for short suspension

The Cowboys could be without their star running back for a short period of time.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ezekiel Elliott is bracing for a “short suspension,” possibly two-to-three games, for a lack of cooperation with the NFL’s investigation of last season’s 2016 domestic violence accusation.

Schefter added that the NFL has yet to complete the suspension, but it is nearing the latter stages. However, Cowboys insider Mike Fisher of 1053 The Fan in Dallas recently tweeted out that “the Cowboys front office ‘is not aware’ of a coming Ezekiel Elliott suspension.”

If Elliott is indeed suspended, then there will likely be a committee with Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris. Unless one of the two is the clear ball carrier, it will be tough to own either one of the running backs.

If/when Elliott is officially suspended, we’ll update our Big Board and Running Back Rankings accordingly. Also, we’ll be sure to expand upon the fantasy impact and draft strategy once we get the official details from the league. Zeke is currently No. 3 overall on our Big Board and our RB3 behind David Johnson and Le’Veon Bell.
