Report: David Johnson sprains MCL, avoids surgery

Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as it looked.

Crisis averted.

Cardinals David Johnson gave dynasty owners and football fans in general a giant scare yesterday, when he was carted off the field with what looked like a gruesome knee injury.

But on Monday, the MRI revealed that Johnson’s ACL was indeed intact and he only suffered a sprained MCL and he would not need surgery. The Cardinals’ running back will only need about six weeks of recovery time before he can begin offseason workouts.

Johnson’s injury could have affected his fantasy draft status, but it looks like this will have zero effect on his 2017 campaign.
