“Watching the Patriots offense during the first few open practices, [Chris] Hogan has been one of the central figures. He’s catching everything being delivered his way by either Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo, and he’s constantly getting open. That 7-Eleven nickname is on the money. He does always seem to be open.”

With Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola sitting out of practice, Chris Hogan has been the best receiver on the field. With Edelman and Amendola’s injury history, Hogan has the potential to be a huge piece of the Patriots’ offense. Due to his quickness and ability to get open, the former Buffalo Bill fits perfectly into Josh McDaniels’ quick-hitting offense. He should be able to slide into Brandon LaFell’s old position at X receiver and put up decent statistics.

Tampa Bay Bucs tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was removed from practice on Thursday by coach Dirk Koetter. He tweeted out during practice (after being kicked out) “MOVING ON!!!!” The tweet has since been deleted, but it forever lives on the internet. Koetter said after practice that the tight end “didn’t know what he was doing,” so he sent him off the field. Not the best look for the second year tight end, who could possibly lose his job to Cameron Brate. Seferian-Jenkins needs to get on the field and fulfill the lofty expectations that he received after being a second-round pick.

Sammie Coates has garnered rave reviews this offseason, and it continued this week. With Martavis Bryant suspended for the entire 2016 season, Markus Wheaton would be the No. 2 guy, but Coates has a chance to jump Wheaton during training camp. Coates is a freak athlete who has all the potential to be a great wide receiver (especially in that offense), so keep an eye on his development as the offseason continues.

“I’m not gonna say he’s raw, but he is still developing. And most young quarterbacks are still developing,” [Hue] Jackson said. “Mastery of how to play the position is the key to his success.”

– Albert Breer, MMQB

Since Robert Griffin III arrived in Cleveland, Browns coach Hue Jackson has been pumping his tires and trying to fix his shattered ego. Jackson is known as a “quarterback whisperer” around the league and hopefully he can return Griffin to his rookie year form. We all know RGIII is loaded with talent and is a fantasy stud when he is right, so hopefully he can get back to that level in Cleveland.

Not strictly fantasy:

  • Rookie quarterbacks Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch agreed to contracts and finally got paid
  • After leading the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory without a real quarterback, Von Miller wants three years guaranteed, or he plans on sitting out
  • Dwyane Wade snapped a few videos of him and Gabrielle Union’s post-boink cuddle-sesh
