RSJ’s Jackson Barrett created a value-based drafting Excel tool to create the preseason values for this Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart. The tool uses the FantasyPros consensus projections to assign values based on a 12-team, full PPR league.
Each week throughout the season, these values will be altered to reflect the player’s value for the rest of the season. Changes made to player’s value will be based on FantasyPros Rest of Season ECR, results from the season thus far, and The Wolf’s Rest of Season Rankings. But for the most part, the below values should generally reflect consensus rankings. The values provided also allow for comparing player values across positions, not just within one positional group.
For more information on how to make successful deals, check out our strategies for negotiating trades.
Be sure to tune back each week throughout the season. We’ll be adjusting the chart, discussing risers & fallers, and pinpointing trade targets.
The trade value chart for each position is linked below.
Fantasy Football Week 5 Trade Value Chart: Tight Ends
Tight End Riser
It’s incredibly boring, but Pat Friermuth is your TE5 at this point in the season. Given the state of the tight end position, there is simply no choice but to move Freiermuth.
It’s not even like Freirmuth is putting up gaudy numbers that have led to his TE5 status. He’s failed to clear eight PPR points in three of four games. He only has 19 targets for the year and has a 17-percent target share.
If it’s not already obvious, the tight end position has sucked the life out of me and left me completely demoralized. We’re at the point where Freiermuth is a must-start simply because he provided somewhere in the range of a seven-point floor. It’s just so disappointing. Regardless of how devastating it is, ‘Muth deserves to be bumped up the rankings.
Tight End Faller
Three of four weeks have been an absolute horror show for Mark Andrews. It’s to the point that he can only be stashed in leagues with deep benches; on teams with a roster crunch, he can be dropped.
Andrews has now posted a sub-40 percent route participation in two consecutive weeks, scoring 0 (zero) PPR points in both contests. There is not a tight end on the planet Earth that can deliver top-12 production with this sort of usage.
The fall of Andrews is more shocking than anything. He’s gone from a perennial TE1 contender to a rotational player in the blink of an eye. It’s unfortunate, but it’s time for fantasy managers to move on and look for other options.
