LADD MCCONKEY PRODUCTION PROFILE
Ladd McConkey arrived at Georgia as an undersized three-star and battled a handful of four-and-five-star players in the Bulldog receiver room.
After redshirting as a true freshman, McConkey played in all 15 games as a redshirt freshman, verifying his work ethic and valuable skill set. He made a notable impact, securing 31 receptions for 447 yards and five touchdowns en route to a national championship.
Continuing his momentum into his sophomore season, McConkey played in 13 games, amassing 51 catches for 675 yards and five touchdowns. The shifty slot receiver was vital to the Bulldogs’ back-to-back national titles and played his best when the lights shined its brightest.
Despite being limited to eight games due to an ankle injury, McConkey still managed to shine, recording 29 catches for 461 yards and an outstanding 137.3 QB rating when targeted. Despite the setback, he concluded his collegiate career with a highlight against Florida State, taking a broken play 27 yards to the crib (above).
He showcased his prowess during the Senior Bowl, where his exceptional route running left defensive backs struggling to keep up, positioning him as a standout performer during practices and one-on-one drills.

Ladd McConkey boosted his draft stock with an excellent combine, running sub-4.4 and dismantling the field drills.
BOTTOM LINE
Although he primarily lined up outside at Georgia (75% outside), Ladd McConkey fits the mold of the chain-moving slot receiver in a modern offense. He easily creates separation, possesses strong hands, utilizes his elite quickness after the catch, and is both a fiery competitor and winner.
McConkey’s ability to consistently create separation against single coverage, placing him in the 83rd percentile, underscores his potential as a top-tier talent. He’ll likely go in the second round of the NFL Draft after the first two waves of elite outside receivers, meaning he could land in an ideal situation on a team with an above-average and accurate quarterback.
Despite his 2023 injuries potentially dampening draft discussions, McConkey’s refined routes, athleticism, and knack for finding openings within the first two levels of the defense position him as a potential Day 2 steal, capable of thriving as a productive slot receiver in the NFL.
His ceiling may be capped as a fantasy weapon, limiting his role to a PPR monster or a high-floor, low-ceiling starter. However, his history of success on the field and reputation for dominating pivotal matchups underscore his status as a promising prospect poised to leave a significant impact at the next level.
