Kyle Rudolph Week 13 Fantasy Outlook: Waiver Wire Priority, Quality TE Streamer v. Jags if Irv Smith Injury Lingers

If Irv Smith misses Week 13, Kyle Rudolph will be a fantastic Waiver Wire TE Streamer against the atrocious Jaguars defense.

Kyle Rudolph is the ideal Week 13 Waiver Wire pickup for those who need a TE-streamer (really, who doesn’t?) Hell, even if you might be one of the few blessed with reliable TE-play, consider blocking your opponent from Rudolph if you have trash to cut. Rudolph has that much Week 13 fantasy potential.

Wolf, why so rosy on a guy who’s had, oh, 1-2 mildly useful games in 2020?

For one, Irv Smith hasn’t practiced yet this week, and looks like a longshot to play in Week 13. In Smith’s absence last week, Rudolph set season-highs in snaps (78%), targets (8), receptions (7), and yards (68). If I’m not mistaken, he was also a hair away from breaking a long reception for a TD. Ultimately, Rudolph ran 37 pass routes, which trailed only Hunter Henry in Week 12 (h/t RotoWorld)

Next, Rudolph will square off with the Jaguars in Week 13. In case you weren’t aware? The Jaguars BLOW. They are horrendous against all positions, including TEs, where they surrender the most TDs and 7th most FPs to the position. They’ve surrendered six TDs to TEs across the last six games, including back-to-back house calls for Eric Ebron and Austin Hooper.

Rudolph’s a firm bet to keep this streak alive as the lone TE in MIN this weekend.

Kyle Rudolph Fantasy Week 13 Waiver Wire Streamer With Irv Smith Injury

Granted, Rudolph’s solid Week 12 came with both Irv and Adam Thielen out. As of now, Thielen is expected to return, which would obviously put Rudolph down to third, at best, on the target totem pole. There’s also a chance the Vikes blow the Jags up in the run-game, and Kirk Cousins throws a meager 15 times. Always a risk with Minnesota, for all involved.

Still, between the matchup and likely every-down role within it, Rudolph makes for a strong Week 13 TE play. He currently ranks as my TE11, just ahead of Mike Gesicki and Hooper.

If Smith is cleared ahead of Week 13, this will obviously change. For now, consider the 15%-owned Rudolph worth your Waiver Wire & FAAB attention, with a great script to land firmly in the Top-12 TEs — a blessing at such a dumpster fire position in 2020.

Kyle Rudolph DraftKings Outlook: I’m having a hard time avoiding Robert Tonyan @ $3700 v. a leaky Philly secondary (8th most FPs to TEs). Still, if I need to save $300, Rudolph @ $3400 is a fair pivot. Don’t see much in his price range that compares, only needs ~13 to 4x his price.

Of course – please do scan to see if your among the 46% of leagues where George Kittle remains lingering. Now “very optimistic” on a return, Kittle’s obviously priority Numero Uno.
