Alexander Mattison is the Ultimate Fantasy ‘Handcuff With Benefits’

Alex Mattison is severely undervalued and he needs to be owned in every league.

Dalvin Cook has been a Fantasy MVP this season (imagine if a certain website/podcast told you that he would go over 2,000 total yards and be 2019’s Christian McCaffrey) and we pray on the fantasy gods that he stays healthy for the entirety of the 2019 season. But let’s be real. He’s known to be a bit injury prone. If he were to go down at some point this season, they have a special rookie running back behind him who fits Gary Kubiak’s zone blocking scheme like a glove — Alexander Mattison.

If you look at the stat sheet, the former Boise State Bronco will not jump off the paper. Through six weeks, he has 252 yards and a score, but he’s averaging a very solid 5.3 yards per carry. He even performed well last week against the Eagles’ rock solid run defense, totaling 63 yards on 14 carries — out-gaining Cook by 22 yards.

I’m not here to tell you to inject the Jay Ajayi lookalike into your starting lineup quite yet. His upside is ginormous and he’s a must-cuff for Cook owners, but he doesn’t possess standalone value right now.

Surprisingly, 76 percent of leagues have broken brains, so if you’re in one of those pathetic leagues, add Mattison immediately.

Mattison is The Wolf’s RB42 on his Rest of Season Big Board.
