TJ Hockenson Looks Ready for Immediate Impact, Should Be On All Fantasy Radars

Rookie tight ends typically suck in fantasy football, but TJ Hockenson looks like the real deal.

The tight end position is already so paper thin compared to the rest of the positions in fantasy football.  Outside of the top two tiers of tight ends, the position really is cringeworthy altogether.  Finding potential diamonds in the rough becomes that much more important, so look no further than TJ Hockenson.  Hockenson was the nearly consensus top tight end in this very talented and deep rookie tight end class.  With a rare combination of speed and power as well as NFL ready blocking and receiving chops, Hockenson appears to be a can’t miss tight end prospect.

Unfortunately, the learning curve for tight ends coming into the league is usually very steep.  It takes a couple of seasons to really acclimate to the NFL game.  That might not be the case for Mr. Hockenson.  A recent tweet from longtime NFL Scout Brian Baldinger, alludes to his belief in Hockenson, calling him part of the next great “QB-TE duo.”

In preseason, Matthew Stafford and Hockenson appear to already have a lethal connection.  During the dress rehearsal for the regular season, Hockenson converted four targets from Stafford into three receptions for 52 yards.  Coming from the same offensive system that produced George Kittle, Hockenson very well could develop into one of the next great tight ends.  His skillset almost mirrors that of a recently retired Rob Gronkowski.  That certainly sounds like a Penny Stock worth investing in.
