Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott Exploding as Fantasy Stretch Run Heroes

Amari Cooper's resurgence reached new heights on Sunday

Exploiting a banged-up Eagles secondary, Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper continued their torrid hot streak in a (near) division clinching win. Prescott threw for a career-high 455 yards  along with 3 scores, with Cooper once again acting as his go-to-guy. The mid-year acquisition hauled in 10-of-13 targets for 217 yards and three TDs. He is now up to 473 yards and five TDs in his last three contests. Though Jerry Jones was heavily criticized for Cooper’s first-round price tag, the Cowboys have now won five-straight and are staring at a momentum-filled playoff berth.

Fantasy owners will certainly keep riding this wave. In Oakland, Cooper always flashed elite WR1 traits, but could never find consistency. Now, in Dallas, his immense ceiling is finally being realized. Cowboys OC Scott Linehan has long-preferred a top-target hog since his Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant days, and Cooper is making the most of his steadier looks. He’s nearly tripled his yardage, going from a 22-280-TD Oakland line (6 GP) to  40-642-6 TDs in his six Cowboys games.

The rapport between Prescott and Cooper is palpable. In fact, Cooper encouraged Prescott to audible on their 75-yard score, highlighting his comfort level in the offense. He’s calling his Cowboys experience “a dream come true,” something his owners would also agree with. We knew the schedule was exploitable, but this is beyond our wettest fantasy dreams.

Speaking of schedule,Cooper will face a tough test in Week 15. Indy’s secondary is surrendering the 4th fewest points to WRs, and nothing would be more “Cooper” than a complete disappearance right when owners begin trusting him.

Still, with double digits in four of his six Dallas games and two week winners, Cooper’s earned locked-in status. Plus, for those who survive to the finals, Cooper could again be a week winner with a Week 16 date against the nonexistent TB secondary. His Rest of Season and 2019 outlook grow brighter each week.
