SuperFlex 2025 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft (Pre-CFP): Cam Ward, Ashton Jeanty, Travis Hunter Ascend the Fantasy Draft Board

2025 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft SuperFlex

UPDATE: JANUARY 8, 2025

The 2024 college football season may have raced by, but the journey isn’t over—the stage is set for the historic debut of the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. While the committee debates its rankings (and tries to squeeze in as many SEC teams as possible), it’s time to shift gears and dive into the fourth edition of our 2025 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft, tailored for SuperFlex formats.

This draft class has seen its fair share of shakeups. Some players have skyrocketed from obscurity to first-round locks, while others have tumbled off the radar and might opt for another year in college to chase the next NIL bag.

What stands out in 2025? A quarterback class with intriguing upside but limited depth, a legendary running back class that’s evolved throughout the season, a receiver group that’s fallen short compared to last year’s, and a few tight ends with legitimate game-changing potential.

With the 2024 season nearing its end, let’s break down the latest first-round projections for this year’s dynasty rookie class and see who’s poised to be the next big fantasy cornerstone.

2025 DYNASTY ROOKIE MOCK DRAFT (SUPERFLEX)

1.01: ASHTON JEANTY, RB BOISE STATE

Ashton Jeanty isn’t just another running back prospect—he’s a generational talent whose game-changing skill set rivals that of Bijan Robinson coming out of college. With elite vision, nasty physicality, unparalleled contact balance, and explosive athleticism, Jeanty projects as the most complete running back prospect in years.

Jeanty’s game goes far beyond running the ball. His natural hands and refined route-running make him a three-down offensive weapon, capable of lining up out-wide and creating mismatches. Add his advanced pass protection, and you have the prototype for a modern three-down back—versatile, reliable, and nearly impossible to game-plan against—making him a top-three dynasty rookie selection and a can’t-miss RB prospect.

Ashton Jeanty is a must-have cornerstone workhorse for dynasty leagues with him likely separating himself from Tetairoa McMillan as the process continues. With his rare blend of traits and sky-high potential, Jeanty has all the makings of an elite fantasy asset capable of dominating for years to come.

2024 key stats: 14 GP, 2,601 YDS, 7.0 YPC, 29 TD, 23 REC, 138 reYDS, 1 TD

1.02: TETAIROA MCMILLAN, WR ARIZONA

Tet McMillan and his QB Noah Fifita returned to Arizona after their head coach, Jed Fisch, pulled the rug out from under them to coach Washington. It was a loyal move for one of the best QB-WR combos in the nation to stick around, but the Wildcats have had a massively disappointing season. Still, McMillan was a bright spot for the team, keeping the offense respectable as their only consistent playmaker, and rewriting the Arizona record book.

McMillan has the size (6’5, 215 lbs), speed, and talent to be a true alpha WR1 in the NFL, with massive upside as a prototypical X receiver. He shines with exceptional body control and the ability to win contested catches, paired with reliable hands and an impressive catch radius to secure passes from outside his frame.

His precise route-running, sharp releases, and ability to stretch the field will make him a dynamic fantasy weapon. McMillan offers valuable scheme flexibility with his versatility to play inside or outside, making him a future fantasy star in any offense and an immediate contributor on the perimeter.

2024 key stats: 12 GP, 84 REC, 1,319 YDS, 15.7 AVG, 8 TD

1.03: CAM WARD, QB MIAMI

The quarterback class pales in comparison to the 2024 rookie QB class, highlighted by future fantasy stars like Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix. Still, there might be some upside with the upcoming class of signal-callers, led by Miami’s Cam Ward.

The transfer’s explosive 2024 season propelled him into the spotlight as the most exciting Konami Code quarterback prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft. Once a dark horse in the conversation, Ward has skyrocketed into contention as a likely top-10 pick with massive fantasy upside.

What makes Ward stand out? His dynamic skill set mirrors the qualities of today’s elite fantasy quarterbacks. With an uncanny ability to extend plays, Ward’s mobility and off-platform throws are tailor-made for modern NFL offenses. In 2024, he answered critical questions about his accuracy and decision-making, showing significant growth that suggests he’s ready to take on NFL defenses.

Of course, like many college quarterbacks, Ward may face a learning curve when adapting to NFL-level reads and progressions. But his natural playmaking ability, combined with elite arm talent, gives him a high ceiling that teams won’t want to pass on.

Leading Miami’s electric offense, Ward will not only be invited to New York City as a Heisman finalist—but he’s also building a case as the premier quarterback prospect in his class and a future fantasy QB1 with massive Konami upside.

2024 key stats: 13 GP, 4,313 YDS, 67.2 CMP%, 39 TD 7 INT, 204 ruYD, 4 ruTD

1.04: SHEDEUR SANDERS, QB COLORADO

Shedeur Sanders is carving out a path that could allow him to step into a day-one starting role. His poise and accuracy make him a seamless fit for today’s NFL game. Sanders’ steady 2024 progression—highlighted by improved efficiency—underscores his relentless drive to refine his craft after finishing his career at Boulder.

His poise under pressure sets Sanders apart from the other quarterbacks in this class. He and Coach Prime entered one of the worst situations in college football, and the two elevated the Buffs into the playoff convo before a late-season loss to Kansas.

While certain issues remain growth opportunities, his flaws are coachable and unlikely to hinder his trajectory. Sanders thrives in timing-based passing schemes, where his quick release and precision can shine, complemented by play-action opportunities for deep shots.

Shedeur Sanders is a prime dynasty target for managers seeking long-term quarterback stability. His NFL-ready skill set and potential to blossom into a top-tier passer make him a cornerstone asset in dynasty leagues.

2024 key stats: 13 GP, 4,134 YDS, 74 COMP%, 37 TD 10 INT, 4 ruTD

1.05: TRAVIS HUNTER, WR/CB COLORADO

*DISCLAIMER: Will re-evaluate if Hunter officially declares as a full-time WR*

Travis Hunter’s 2025 dynasty outlook is nothing short of electrifying and intriguing. The Colorado star is the definition of a rare talent, showcasing elite skills on both offense and defense. His natural instincts and extraordinary athleticism give him an unparalleled ceiling at the NFL level.

As a wide receiver, Hunter offers dynamic playmaking ability. He excels in run-after-catch situations and thrives in multiple alignments across the formation. On defense, he projects as a lockdown corner with game-changing ball skills and an exceptional feel in zone coverage.

Hunter’s profile is truly unique, and the term “generational” feels appropriate here. Some standout traits include his exceptional football IQ, elite agility and explosiveness, and warrior-like endurance to play an extensive number of snaps.

That said, Hunter’s dual-role versatility has left room for refinement. He could develop further at either position, whether wide receiver or cornerback. Additionally, while he’s incredibly fluid, his tiny frame lacks the strength to play those snaps at a high level in the NFL.

Travis Hunter is truly one of a kind—a genuine two-way talent unlike anything we’ve seen before. While his skill set may shine brightest on defense, it’s easy to imagine different teams utilizing him as a starter on either side of the ball. This uncertainty about his future role makes it challenging to rank him at this stage; until we know where he’ll line up in the NFL, projecting his impact remains a puzzle.

2024 key stats: 13 GP, 96 REC, 1,258 YDS, 15 TD

1.06: OMARION HAMPTON, RB NORTH CAROLINA

This is where things get interesting. An elite list of running backs and a couple of high-upside wideouts are still on the board. However, Omarion Hampton checks in at my RB2 behind Jeanty, with the likelihood of things shuffling down the line as draft day approaches.

The UNC product is a bruising, downhill runner built to thrive on physicality and power. His exceptional contact balance and relentless drive to churn out extra yards make him a force in short-yardage and goal-line situations. With a strong lower body and an aggressive finish, Hampton is a back that defenses dread to tackle, giving him immediate appeal as a physical thumper at the next level.

While Hampton’s strengths are clear, there’s room for growth in his game. He’s improved as a pass-catcher each season, with his reception total increasing from 6 to 29 to 38 this season. Still, his receiving skills need refinement to unlock his three-down potential as a fantasy cheat-code.

Despite these areas for improvement, Hampton’s college production and physical tools suggest he can carve out a three-down role in the NFL. Overall, Hampton offers intriguing upside for dynasty managers seeking a physical back with touchdown and receiving potential, making him my current RB2.

2024 key stats: 12 GP, 1,660 YDS, 5.9 YPC, 15 TD, 38 REC, 373 recYDS, 2 TD

1.07: EMEKA EGBUKA, WR OHIO STATE

Emeka Egbuka’s 2024 campaign solidified his reputation as one of his class’ most refined route runners. With 10 touchdowns and 12.8 yards per catch, he showcased improved explosiveness and red-zone proficiency, making him a highly reliable target in crucial situations. Egbuka thrives on technique rather than crazy athleticism, excelling on option routes and consistently creating separation between the hashes–arguably giving him the highest floor out of this class’ receiver prospects.

There have been a few Amon-Ra St. Brown comps being thrown around, and it makes sense when watching Egbuka on a weekly basis.

He’s a natural fit for timing-based systems emphasizing quick game concepts and horizontal spacing, particularly from the slot. His reliable hands and crisp route running make him a go-to option on third downs and the red-zone.

While his primary role has been as a slot maven, Egbuka’s 2024 performance made people forget about his injury-riddled 2023 season, proving he can impact the game from inside and outside. Like the rest of Brian Hartline’s recruits, he’s a day-one contributor at the next level and could sneak into the first round.

If things go according to plan in Columbus, Egbuka will finish this season as Ohio State’s career reception and receiving yardage leader.

Overall, Emeka Egbuka is a high-floor dynasty target with slot-specialist upside and sneaky versatility. His polished skill set and red-zone savvy translate well in fantasy, making him an attractive long-term investment for dynasty managers seeking a reliable PPR option.

2024 key stats: 14 GP, 70 REC, 896 YDS, 10 TD

1.08: LUTHER BURDEN III, WR MISSOURI

Luther Burden III enters the NFL draft as a dynamic offensive weapon, blending versatility with game-changing playmaking ability. With experience lining up across formations and excelling with the ball in his hands, Burden projects as a potential chess piece for creative offensive schemes in today’s NFL. His ability to shine in multiple roles makes him a prospect for NFL coordinators seeking a do-it-all playmaker.

Though his junior-year production didn’t match his lofty expectations (he was arguably the preseason rookie 1.01), Burden’s tape still flashes the traits of a difference-maker. His knack for creating yards after the catch and winning contested battles positions him as an ideal fit for schemes prioritizing quick passes and manufactured touches. Teams looking to maximize his skill set could deploy him in roles similar to Deebo Samuel or Jayden Reed, utilizing his rushing and receiving talents to create matchup nightmares.

Burden’s NFL success will hinge on landing in a system that prioritizes his versatility and creativity. Although evaluators may question his year-to-year consistency; his five-star high school ranking, sophomore breakout, and unique skill set offer undeniable upside. With the right coaching and usage, Burden could quickly become a key offensive contributor at the next level.

The Missouri Tiger is a high-upside dynasty prospect whose versatility makes him a valuable asset in creative offenses. Though there’s some risk tied to his inconsistent production, his potential to deliver in multiple facets of the game makes him a must-watch player for fantasy managers targeting big-play potential.

2024 key stats: 12 GP, 61 REC, 676 YDS, 6 TD, 115 ruYDS, 2 TD

1.09: TREVEYON HENDERSON, RB OHIO STATE

(Update – Previously Quinshon Judkins, RB Ohio State)

Dating back to our “Way, Way Too Early” 2024 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft (when we thought Henderson was in the 1.01 convo for that class if he declared early) and our “Too Early” 2025 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft that was published in the preseason, TreVeyon Henderson has been an enigma ever since stepping foot on the Ohio State campus.

Henderson arrived as a consensus five-star and immediately made noise as a freshman, putting up over 1,200 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns as a true freshman, before battling injuries and looking inefficient as a runner over his next two seasons. However, Henderson decided to return for his senior season and the Buckeyes added Quinshon Judkins in the transfer portal to take the load off each running back.

This season, it’s done wonders for both workhorse backs — especially Henderson. Judkins narrowly leads the tandem in carries, but they have put up similar stats through 14 games. What has been clear, though, is that Henderson looks like his freshman self again and has shown the vision, speed, toughness, and three-down skill set that made him a unique talent.

Overall, Henderson is elite in open space, can catch the ball out of the backfield, and has the breakaway speed that sets him apart from Judkins as an NFL prospect. The former five-star has put together a clinic over Ohio State’s two playoff games, with the chance to put more on tape against the nation’s top defenses.

There’s a real chance that Henderson slides into my RB2 slot after likely testing off the charts at the combine.

2024 key stats: 14 GP, 925 YDS, 7.3 YPC, 10 TD, 26 REC, 209 recYDS

1.10: JALEN MILROE, QB ALABAMA

Jalen Milroe is one of the most intriguing quarterback prospects in his class, dripping in elite athleticism with a cannon for an arm. His raw tools alone will capture the attention of NFL scouts, but similar to Anthony Richardson, his ultimate success will hinge on refining his mechanics and decision-making. Milroe thrives when utilizing his mobility, making him a perfect fit for systems designed around rollouts, play-action, and quarterback runs.

Under the guidance of HC Kalen DeBoer, who developed Michael Penix into a first rounder, Milroe took a step forward in his development. His upside is that of a dynamic, dual-threat NFL starter—someone capable of making game-changing plays both on the ground and through the air.

If Milroe lands in the right spot with the right tools around him, his dynasty upside is that of Jalen Hurts—who also struggled in similar areas as a passer at Alabama and Oklahoma. While his ability to extend plays and create off-script will be an asset, proving he can consistently command a pro-style offense will be key to his long-term success.

Jalen Milroe is a high-risk, high-reward dynasty stash. His raw athleticism and dual-threat ability offer tantalizing upside for fantasy managers willing to bet on his development. If Milroe lands with the right team and coaching staff, he could become a fantasy star with elite QB1 potential.

2024 key stats: 13 GP, 2,844 YDS, 16 TD 11 INT, 726 ruRYDS, 20 ruTD

1.11: KALEB JOHNSON, RB IOWA

Kaleb Johnson is a prime example of coming from practically nowhere to being in the late-first-round dynasty convo.

The Hawkeye is a hard-nosed runner with the skill set to make an immediate impact as an early-down banger while offering intriguing upside as a future three-down back. His vision and decisiveness in tight spaces allow him to consistently find yardage where others might struggle. Johnson’s one-cut ability makes him an ideal fit for zone-blocking schemes, where he can capitalize on defensive over-pursuit and deliver consistent gains.

Though he lacks elite breakaway speed, Johnson’s blend of power and burst makes him a reliable chain-mover and a dangerous red-zone weapon. His ability to wear down defenses over the course of a game is tailor-made for teams looking to establish a physical ground attack. To unlock his full potential, Johnson will need to polish his pass protection and refine his receiving skills, making him a true every-down asset.

Having proven himself against Big Ten competition as an unheralded three-star recruit, Johnson’s physical running style and pro-style experience suggest he can contribute to an NFL backfield rotation from day one. If he can elevate his game in the passing department, he has the tools to emerge as a workhorse for a run-heavy offense.

Kaleb Johnson is a valuable dynasty target for managers seeking a power back with untapped upside. While his immediate appeal lies in his early-down and goal-line work, his potential to develop into a feature back makes him a long-term dynasty investment worth watching.

2024 key stats: 12 GP, 1,537 YDS, 6.4 YPC, 21 TD, 22 REC, 188 recYDS, 2 TD

1.12: TE COLSTON LOVELAND, TE MICHIGAN

Colston Loveland is a name that dynasty managers should circle for 2025—a tight end prospect with the makings of a career-long dynasty TE1. With a rare blend of size, athleticism, and football IQ, Loveland offers an every-down skill set that makes him a weapon in both the passing game and as a blocker. His precise route running, dependable hands, and ability to create YAC set him apart as a dynamic playmaker.

Dynasty drafters will initially underrate Loveland because of his brutal QB situation this season, but if they pop on the 2023 film alongside JJ McCarthy, they’ll see a future elite NFL tight end.

All signs point to Loveland being a highly sought-after talent in both the 2025 NFL Draft and Dynasty Rookie Drafts. His versatility as both a receiver and blocker makes him a top candidate to hear his name called in the first round, potentially as the first tight end off the board with competition from Penn State’s Tyler Warren.

For dynasty leagues, Loveland’s high ceiling and NFL-ready traits make him a prospect worth investing in early, especially after Sam LaPorta and Brock Bowers made significant year-one impacts.
