As a quick overview, these 2023 NFL Playoffs Fantasy Football rankings are driven by both individual talent, but more importantly, potential games played. In most formats, you’ll score points for as many games as your players play. In Underdog Bestball, points are NOT cumulative, as you will advance through Four Rounds — so you need a balance of longevity and single-week explosiveness.
Once drafting, these rankings should become very fluid when you lock up your “anchors.” You must have a strong awareness of playoff brackets, avoiding current or soon-to-be opponents while stacking up the best players on 2-3 total teams. If I draft CeeDee Lamb in Round 1, for example, then I should immediately cross off the Buccanneers— their Round 1 opponents. Meanwhile, I’d elevate other Tony Pollard, Dak Prescott, and other Cowboys in hopes of Dallas going on a long run.
Most often, you should load up on one AFC and one NFC team, ideally the teams you see making the Super Bowl (although draft flow won’t always allow you your top choices). Since I expect a Chiefs vs. 49ers showdown, you’ll see players from those teams ranked high here. However, the possibility of FOUR total games for the Bills, versus just 3 for the Chiefs due to their Bye, also elevates Buffalo.
Note: These rankings assume a Best Ball format, and elevate cornerstone “QBs” in the rankings.
