Zack Moss Fantasy Outlook Skyrockets, Devin Singletary is Now a Fantasy Cut in Bills Backfield

Zack Moss' fantasy outlook got a major boost as the Bills' RB1... Devin Singletary? Not so much.

No one would have blamed you for thinking Devin Singletary was a solid fantasy RB option a month ago.  His production through four games of the season had been undeniable.  He was averaging over 13 a game in PPR scoring, built on a strong foundation of double digits worth of carries and solid pass-catching chances out of the backfield every week.  But starting in Week 5, the bottom fell out.

The Singletary of today is a shell of his former self.  Since the first four weeks I alluded to, he has averaged less than six fantasy points a game.  Let’s put that in perspective: Frank Gore averages more fantasy points than Singletary over the past five games, and as we all know, Gore is 54 years old.  I love Frank, but once he is producing more fantasy points than you, it’s time to let go. Last week Singletary carried the ball two times for one yard.  Cut him.

Enter Zack Moss.  After missing time earlier in the year with injuries (the weeks Moss was missing were basically Singletary’s best games which is probably not a coincidence), Moss seems to have finally established himself as the clear Bills RB1.

His fantasy production the past three weeks has been solid if not excellent at times—Moss has netted 9, 20, and 12 in PPR scoring since Week 7.  Moss proved last week that even if he’s not running particularly well some games (9 carries for 18 yards), he is still a viable fantasy option since he gets the goal line looks.  The fact that Moss scored a TD and caught a couple of passes turned what would have been a disaster into a solid performance—that’s the kind of floor you like to see from an RB.

By no means is the Bills’ backfield a must-own, but quality RBs are a scarcity so there’s a good chance you’ll find yourself wishing you had one you could count on down the stretch.  If you’re in that spot (or think you might be later), Buffalo might not be a bad place to look.  And if that’s the team you want to own a piece of, Zack Moss is definitely the guy.

The rookie is up to The Wolf’s RB24 on his Rest of Season Big Board, while Singletary has fallen down to RB38.
