Allen Robinson Quickly Clears Concussion Protocol, Resumes Fantasy Week 8 Must-Start Status

After getting the disastrous 'doubtful' designation earlier in the week, Allen Robinson will play and is a Week 8 fantasy must-start.

It’s official:  Allen Robinson has gone through (and passed) the league’s concussion protocol and he will be suiting up for the Bears’ 4:25 Sunday clash with the Saints.  This is certainly welcome news not only for the Bears, but for all Robinson fantasy owners, who has averaged close to 16 points a game in PPR scoring and stands at WR11 going into this week’s game.  Obviously, with that level of success, Robinson would not have been an easy man to replace.

Close to a week of uncertainty had followed Robinson after getting his face driven into the ground during the fourth quarter of Monday night’s drubbing at the hands of the Rams.  Robinson, who had missed every practice since he was concussed, seemed doubtful to play given his lack of practice and an absence of any positive information coming out. In fact, that was his actual injury designation prior to the announcement of his return.

His projected fantasy points fell to zero across the major fantasy sites, causing owners to scramble to salvage points elsewhere and causing general grumbling across the fantasy world.  Now it seems, all is right with the world.

Robinson makes up a significant portion of the Bears’ aerial pie.  He accounts for about a third of all receiving yards on the team and has more than double the yards of any other Bear through the air.  He also leads the team by significant margins in receptions (44) and targets (70).  All this, of course, is just a long-winded way of telling you that Robinson is clearly a must-start in Week 8.

The Wolf’s Week 8 Rankings have yet to be changed to reflect Robinson’s return (that’s how hot off the presses this news is), but he does have him ranked as his WR8 (6 spots higher than the ECR) on his ROS Big Board.
