Chris Carson, RB Seattle Seahawks (foot)

Carson is dealing with a mid-foot sprain. The injury is said to be week-to-week and the team is waiting to hear ball on the MRI results. He was pacing around on the sideline post-injury, looking eager to get back on the field so it may not be too serious. Seattle will likely be cautious with him though and roll with either Carlos Hyde (hamstring) or DeeJay Dallas.

Christian McCaffrey, RB Carolina Panthers (ankle)

The fantasy gawd returned to practice on Tuesday initially wearing his red non-contact injury before ripping it off and to show his normal practice uniform. Although he caused eruptions in the pants of CMC owners, the team decided to keep him out on the short week against the Falcons. Mike Davis owners get one more week in the sun.

Michael Thomas, WR New Orleans Saints (hamstring, psycho)

After sitting out the front-half of the week, WR1 returned to practice on Thursday after his long absence. We’ll keep our eyes on Thomas’ availability as the week continues.

Joe Mixon, RB Cincinnati Bengals (foot)

After missing Week 7, Mixon did not practice on Wednesday and could be rested one more week before the team’s bye in Week 9. Gio Bernard would be a must-start if Mixon is held out once again.

Players Marked Good to Go

  • Dalvin Cook, RB Minnesota Vikings (groin)
    • Cook declared himself active for Week 8 when he was advertising some apparel on his Twitter handle, lol
  • Jalen Reagor, WR Philadelphia Eagles (thumb)
    • The rookie will play on Sunday Night Football and is a must-stash
  • Robert Tonyan, TE Green Bay Packers (ankle)
    • Big Bob has been a man about his ankle but it looks like he’s finally starting to get back to 100 percent

Ruled Out

  • Chris Godwin, WR Tampa Bay Buccaneers (finger)
    • Broke his finger last week and has already been ruled OUT for Week 8.
  • Kenyan Drake, RB Arizona Cardinals (ankle)
    • Disappointing Drake was carted off with an ankle injury and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Chase Edmonds is a must-add and must-play in his place.

Players to Monitor

  • Allen Robinson, WR Chicago Bears (concussion)
    • Has a short week to recover and pass the concussion protocol test
  • Carlos Hyde, RB Seattle Seahawks (hamstring)
    • Would be in line for RB1 duties with Carson out of action. He’s dealing with a hamstring injury, so if he can’t go, then DeeJay Dallas would be the lead back.
  • John Brown, WR Buffalo Bills (knee)
    • Returned to practice Wednesday and followed it up again on Thursday
  • Philip Lindsay, RB Denver Broncos (concussion)
    • Practiced on Thursday
  • Tevin Coleman, RB San Francisco 49ers (knee)
    • Coleman was activated from the IR and could return with the Niners short at RB. JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon are currently the only healthy backs available.
  • Devonta Freeman, RB New York Giants (ankle)
    • Freeman missed Thursday’s practice. If he can’t go, Wayne Gallman would be a decent streamer against a tough Bucs’ defense
  • AJ Brown, WR Tennessee Titans (knee)
    • AJB got his weekly absence of practice to rest his knee but should be good to go again on Sunday

Likely Out

  • Mark Ingram, RB New Orleans Saints (ankle)
    • Not practicing Wednesday after having a week to recover during the bye. He seems unlikely to play Week 8
  • Miles Sanders, RB Philadelphia Eagles (knee)
    • Sanders did not practice Thursday and was initially expected to miss one-to-two weeks anyways
  • Dallas Goedert, TE Philadelphia Eagles (ankle)
    • Activated from IR, but likely to return for Week 9
  • Andy Dalton, QB Cincinnati Bengals (concussion)
    • The Red Riffle is still in concussion protocol, it looks like the creature that is Ben DiNucci will start Week 8 against the Eagles. This would massively downgrade all Cowboys skill position players.
