Falcons Feel “Confident” With RB Brian Hill, Could be Prize of Week 11 Waiver Wire

The plodding Devonta Freeman could be on the shelf for two weeks, leaving the keys to the backfield to the physical Brian Hill.

There’s a high possibility there is a Week 11 starter and solid RB2 on the Week 11 Waiver Wire. With Devonta Freeman set to potentially miss up to two weeks with a foot sprain, the Falcons will look to hand over the workhorse duties to Brian Hill, who was forced into Freeman’s role in Week 10. Hill wasn’t overly impressive, totaling 61 yards on 20 carries. However, he did grab a 10-yard touchdown pass to ice the game against the rival Saints. With Ito Smith on the IR and the Falcons’ season over, they’ll look to ride the 6-foot-1, 220 lb running back until Freeman returns.

Racking up 71 total yards against the Saints’ elite defense is no joke, and he faced the porous Panthers run defense in a massive blowup opportunity in Week 12. The Panthers allowed Tevin ColemanDerrick Henry and Aaron Jones to have their way on the ground over the past three weeks, and Hill will be a locked in RB2 in this spot. Not to mention they’ve allowed an absurd 17 rushing touchdowns this season.

The physical running back and preseason darling is full of confidence and could be the spark for your stretch run if you’re able to snag him off the waiver wire.

“Once I get to open up, I like my chances,” the running back said.

We do too.
