Chris Godwin Living up to Offseason Hype, Potential Fantasy League Winning Upside

Has Chris Godwin overtaken Mike Evans as the Buccaneers' WR1?!

To say he was the darling of the offseason would be underselling it.  Yet somehow, Chris Godwin has exceeded all expectations.  In what should have been an improved offense under new head coach, Bruce Arians, Godwin has been the lone bright spot.  Godwin has averaged a healthy 12 air yards per target and averaged 7.5 targets per game.

Godwin is on pace for 120 targets.  If he sustains his current pace, Godwin would finish with 88 receptions for 1390 yards and 16 touchdowns.  While that’s obviously not a sustainable rate, the point is that Godwin is a potential WR1 that was drafted as a teams second or third WR option.  While fellow teammate Mike Evans struggling to get going and Jameis Winston struggling to find his way under Arians, Godwin appears to have a high floor and league winning upside.  This may sound like preaching to the choir but Godwin is a locked and loaded starter each week.

Godwin is our WR9 on our ROS Big Board, four spots higher than the ECR… And we still might not be high enough.
