The thing that separates Roto Street Journal from the majority of the industry, is that we offer transparency. Sure, we sometimes like to blow ourselves when we’re right (cough, Pat Mahomes, cough), but we’ll also put our hand up when we’re wrong. When the Ravens drafted the speedy Hollywood Brown in the first round, we were distraught. We called it an “awful fantasy spot.” However, the 110 lb, freshman in high school look-a-like receiver made us shut up pretty quickly. In only 12 snaps (somewhat concerning), Hollywood took both a slant and a Lamar Jackson bomb to the house, and finished his day with 147 yards on four receptions.
Per Pro Football Focus, Brown only ran 10 routes on the day and was targeted on five of those. With efficiency like that, it’ll be tough for Greg Roman to keep Hollywood on the sideline. His quickness and elite foot speed could give him DeSean Jackson-esque upside in the Ravens’ offense. If they’re going to continue to ride Mark Ingram, then Brown will be able to take full advantage of sleepy defensive backs and loaded fronts.
Hollywood and his quarterback have taken giant leaps in The Wolf’s Rest of Season Big Board and he is now a must-add Week 2 Waiver Wire priority (68% available on Yahoo).
