Allen Robinson Cements Fantasy Upside as Bears True Target-Hog in 2019 Opener

If Week 1 told us anything, it's that Allen Robinson will be one of the league's true Alpha Target-Hogs.

Allen Robinson proved us wrong at the RSJ in Week 1 with a statement Target-Hog performance in the Week 1 opener versus the Packers. Robinson, who likely suffered from Blake Bortles PTSD during the game, was the lone bright spot of the Thursday Night disaster. A-Rob was peppered by 13 of Mitch Trubisky’s 45 pass attempts, and outside of Tarik Cohen, he was the only player with a pulse in Matt Nagy’s offense — including Nagy himself. Out of those 13 targets, Robinson corralled seven of those for 102 yards. If Trubisky was even halfway accurate, he could have easily ended up with double-digit receptions and close to 200 yards receiving. Even though Trubisky feels very Bortles’ish, that’s fine with us if Robinson continues to vacuum up those targets.

People forget Robinson had a 80-1400-14 season as a 22-year old with Bortles throwing him the rock — actually, people don’t forget that because it’s the only thing people talk about when Robinson is referenced. Since that season, A-Rob has suffered a major injury and has been pretty blah. However, if Week 1 is a preview for what’s coming in 2019, then he’s going to be a monster steal from his WR29 ADP.

In fact, in Robinson’s previous two games, the receiver has registered 17 receptions, 245 yards and a score on 25 targets. That’s a 136 rec, 1,960 yd and eight touchdown 16 game pace. Maybe there is something here, after all.
