Jamaal Williams a Fantasy Must-Add for Week 16 Championships

Jamaal Williams (gross) is suddenly set-up to be a Championship Week Difference Maker

On Sunday versus the Bears, Packers RB Aaron Jones crushed fantasy semifinals hopes and dreams. The stud tailback sprained his MCL in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Bears, and was never seen again. The end result?  A highly useful 8 yards on 4 carries. In his absence, the always-plodding Jamaal Williams somehow came to life against the league’s top run defense. Williams rode every-down volume to 97 total yards (4 receptions) + 1 score, and becomes a fantasy waiver wire must-add at only 17% owned.

No, Williams does not possess a single shred of “special.” In fact, Sundays 17.7 FP outburst marked his first double-digit fantasy day since December 2017. Still, with legitimately no one else to contend with for touches, Williams should cross that mark once more. He’s a lock for 17-20 touches, including 3-5 receptions, against a vastly mediocre Jets run-defense. Williams has a reliable pair of hands and is steady in protection, and seems unlikely to leave the field Sunday. Though starting something so bleh in the finals feels wrong, Williams will bring some oomph to the RB-needy. His floor is far higher than fellow RB must-add Kalen Ballage, even if the ceiling is a bit lower. Write him in for another 70ish total yards and another TD.
