RotoVegas | NFL Week 12 Fantasy Football Results and Breakdown

The Week 12 #RotoVegas results are in...

Welcome back to #RotoVegas, where last week we had our first reader victory since Week 1. To put that in perspective, the last time the readers won a week of Roto Vegas, “In My Feelings” by Drake was the #1 song in the country and Hue Jackson was head coach of the Browns. WOW! Seems like forever ago. Anyway, I hope you voted this week to try to bring the readers’ win streak up to 2:

Polls are posted each Friday on our Twitter page and Instagram story, both of which are stocked each week with helpful articles and graphics, sit/start advice, and anything else your little heart could desire. Now, we had some big performances out of our candidates this week, so let’s see where it left us after 12 weeks.

1. Andrew Luck is our QB3 this week in a matchup with the Dolphins, and he’s a 4-point favorite over Jameis Winston, who’ll face the 49ers defense. Who you got?

Luck -4: 61%
Winston +4: 39%

Winner: Winston +4

The readers always struggle with the QB poll. And this week was no different, although the matchup was extremely close. Andrew Luck and Jameis Winston both had top-10 performances in Week 12 and put up pretty similar numbers. Luck threw for 343 yards and 3 TDs, adding 5 yards on 2 rushes and 4 yards on 1 reception, all totaling 23.6 points in a win over Miami. Winston, meanwhile, threw for 312 yards and 2 TDs while recording another 24 yards on 7 rushes for 22.9 points in a win over San Francisco. The performances were very close, but Jameis covers this one.

2. Nick Chubb has been huge for the Browns in recent weeks, and this week he’s a 5-point favorite over Aaron Jones, who’s coming off a big week of his own. Who’s your pick?

Chubb -5: 61%
Jones +5: 39%

Winner: Chubb -5

Similar voting numbers to poll #1 here but this one goes in the readers’ favor. Nick Chubb had yet another huge game for the Browns, putting up 84 yards and a TD on the ground and another 44 yards and a TD on 3 receptions for a grand total of 27.8 points. Aaron Jones had a respectable performance himself, rushing for 72 yards and a TD and catching 3 of 5 targets for 21 yards, but Chubb’s big week allows him to cover easily and set this week’s score at 1-1.

3. Mike Evans has dealt with a series of changes at QB, and finds himself at WR8 this week against the 49ers. Julian Edelman, meanwhile, is our WR14 against the Jets off a bye. At Evans -5, who you got?

Evans -5: 53%
Edelman +5: 47%

Winner: Edelman +5

Another real close showing here results in a cover for the underdog. Mike Evans seems pretty happy to have Jameis Winston starting at QB again, as he was targeted 8 times Sunday and ended with 6 catches for 116 yards (17.6 PPR) on the day. Julian Edelman was a benefactor of a cleaned-up Patriots offense on Sunday, as he hauled in 4 of his 5 targets for 84 yards and a TD. This gave him 18.4 points on the day, less than 1 more than Evans but enough to cover here.

4. David Njoku is our TE5 this week as the Browns face the Bengals, and he’s also a 4-point favorite over Vance McDonald, who’ll face the Broncos. Who you got?

Njoku -4: 52%
McDonald +4: 48%

Winner: Njoku -4

We had another close poll result here, but the production was a lot more lopsided. Vance McDonald was primarily an afterthought for Pittsburgh on Sunday, catching just 3 passes for 27 yards. Meanwhile, David Njoku had a huge day for the Browns, hauling in all 5 of his targets for 63 yards and a wild TD in which he was basically carried by a defender for the last 3 yards. Both were targeted 5 times this week, but Njoku made the most of his chances and has this week tied 2-2 heading into our final poll.

5. The Chargers are our #5 defense option this week when they face the Cardinals, while the Patriots are two spots below them when they face the Jets. With the line Chargers -3, who’s your pick?

Chargers -3: 45%
Patriots +3: 55%

Winner: PUSH

And for the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks after having none Weeks 1-9, we have a push. And this one comes at a very inopportune time for the readers, barreling towards their 2nd straight victory. But with the Chargers (1 INT, 2 sacks, 10 PA) and Patriots (1 INT, 2 sacks, 13 PA) finishing exactly 3 points apart, this week will end 2-2-1 all around. That sets the season series at 37-21-2 in favor of RSJ.

Be sure to vote each week on our Twitter account and Instagram Story, and check back after the games are over for the breakdown. If you enjoy it, tell your friends! Nothing would make me happier than getting this series big enough that I can take your money for real. And if you have any questions about real-life wagers or fantasy, hit me up on Twitter as well.
