Monday Morning Trainer’s Room: Odell Beckham Jr. and Charles Clay Highlight the NFL Week 5 Injury Report
- Updated: October 9, 2017

Injuries are a part of the game, but for fantasy football, they’re a major part of the game. One player gets hurt and your whole roster could crumble if you don’t have a backup plan. We’re here to update you on the most fantasy-relevant injuries and how their team plans to move forward.
Odell Beckham's season is over, per Ben McAdoo. #Giants

After suffering a brutal ankle fracture, Odell Beckham Jr’s season is over. Beckham was in the midst of a vintage OBJ performance, but his day — and season — was cut short when he was carted off the field after his ankle was mutilated by a Chargers’ defender. The Wolf will tell you in depth how to fill the OBJ gap for the remainder of the season, but this should mean an uptick in targets for both Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram.
Charles Clay underwent a scope this morning and will be out multiple weeks, per Sean McDermott.

Charles Clay was carted off the field with a knee injury that was later diagnosed as a torn meniscus and a sprained MCL. Luckily it sounds worse than it actually is, and he’ll undergo treatment to trim the meniscus, rather than completely repair it. Clay will likely miss about a month of action. With no other real weapons, this will hurt Tyrod Taylor, but could open targets up for rookie Zay Jones. Outside of LeSean McCoy, this offense is a dumpster.
#Dolphins WR DeVante Parker suffered an ankle sprain yesterday and it’s believed to be minor, source said. Not ruled out for Sunday.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 9, 2017
In what was a juicy matchup for DeVante Parker, he exited very early with an ankle injury after only recording 6 yards on one catch. Parker attempted to come back in the game, but was unable to make cuts on the sidelines. Ian Rapoport says the injury is minor, but should be questionable for Week 6. We’ll keep you updated with his availability throughout the week.
