Team owner and GM Jerry Jones announced that Tony Romo is still their QB1 when healthy over rookie Dak Prescott. Prescott has led the team to a 4-1 record and is captivating the hearts of Cowboy fans around the country. Leave it to Jones to bench his up and coming star for an ailing veteran who hasn’t taken the team to the next level. Regardless of who is under center, Ezekiel Elliott and his freak rushing abilities will be given tons of carries. Nothing to worry about there.

Kind of nitpicking at news here, but Melvin Gordon won’t be seeing a reduced role after his fumbles. He’s the lead back in San Diego and has been featured exclusively in the offense. He will remain an RB1 for the season and will be a dependable player on your roster.

The Bears have been struggling this year and now face a QB controversy as to who should be the starter  going forward. For fantasy owners, fans should be hoping for Jay Cutler as he has much more of an impact on Alshon Jeffery‘s game and makes him a bonafide WR1. With Brian Hoyer under center, Jeffery has been disposable.

Sims will be out on Monday night, but this is more long term news than for tonight. Doug Martin is scheduled to return from his injury and with Sims on the IR, could see a nice boost in his receiving stats. Could be a nice time to buy low on Martin.

Quick Hits:

  • Carson Palmer expects to pass the concussion protocol and be ready to play this week
  • Browns QB Josh McCown says he very well could play in Week 6
  • Packers RB Eddie Lacy says his ankle is fine after injuring it last night
  • Rob Gronkowski says he is “back to his old self” after playing on Sunday. Pray for the NFL, Brady and Gronk are back.
