2018 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 15: Start, Stash and Stream

Want to know who to start, stash and stream for this upcoming week? RSJ has you covered.

Welcome back to Start, Stash and Stream where we provide an in depth look into the waiver wire landscape each week. Hopefully you escaped Week 1 of the fantasy football playoffs and find yourself in the Semifinals. The injuries are continuing to pile up, and more than a handful of players remain available in leagues who can have a league altering impact. Also, with only 2 weeks of the fantasy season left, you must cut bait with anyone not performing, regardless of name or affiliation. As they say in Frozen, “Let it go!”. And one word of advice before we get to the Week 15 waiver wire adds. One of my favorite strategies in fantasy sports is blocking. For example, if your opponent has a bad quarterback matchup and will likely be adding one to give him options, pick up all the available quarterbacks. Legitimately. All of them. Make your opponents life as hard and miserable as possible this week, because if, and when, you win, you will be the one laughing and counting money in the finals Week 16. So do your homework, and let the scouting report begin now.

Start

  1. Dante Pettis, WR, San Fransisco 49ers (46% Yahoo ownership); (8-10% FAAB)
  2. Elijah McGuire, RB, New York Jets (7% Yahoo ownership); (7-9% FAAB)
  3. Chris Ivory, RB, Buffalo Bills (4% Yahoo ownership); (5-7% FAAB)
  4. Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens (45% Yahoo ownership) ; (4-6% FAAB)
  5. Curtis Samuel, WR, Carolina Panthers (30% Yahoo ownership); (4-6% FAAB)
  6. DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Denver Broncos (7% Yahoo ownership); (4-6% FAAB)
  7. Kenny Stills, WR, Miami Dolphins (31% Yahoo ownership); (3-5% FAAB)
  8. Jordy Nelson, WR, Oakland Raiders (46% Yahoo ownership); (3-5% FAAB)
  9. Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers (33% Yahoo ownership); (3-5% FAAB)
  10. Frank Gore, RB, Miami Dolphins (27% Yahoo ownership); (2-4% FAAB)
  11. Keke Coutee, WR, Houston Texans (34% Yahoo ownership); (2-4% FAAB)
  12. Tre’Quan Smith, WR, New Orleans Saints (43% Yahoo ownership); (2-4% FAAB)
  13. Vernon Davis, TE, Washington Redskins (5% Yahoo ownership); (1-2% FAAB)
  14. Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills (14% Yahoo ownership); (1-2% FAAB)
  15. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Green Bay Packers (35% Yahoo ownership); (1-2% FAAB)
  16. Ian Thomas, TE, Carolina Panthers (7% Yahoo ownership); (1-2% FAAB)
  17. Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders (19% Yahoo ownership)

With his touchdown on Sunday, Dante Pettis has now scored in 3 consecutive games, and has 4 receiving touchdowns during that time. His connection with Nick Mullens seems to be blossoming with each passing week, and as the scoring continues Mullens will likely target Pettis much more. With a dearth of skill players in the 49ers receiving corps, Pettis will remain a weekly Flex option…Isaiah Crowell (foot) may miss the remainder of the season, meaning either Elijah McGuire or Trenton Cannon will take over lead back duties in the Jets backfield. McGuire totaled 83 yards on 20 touches (17 carries) and scored on the ground, leading me to believe the job is McGuire’s to lose…LeSean McCoy (hamstring) looks like he will be fine, but is unlikely to play Week 15. Chris Ivory should see the bulk of the work out of the Bills backfield after leading Buffalo in Week 14 with 12 carries…Curtis Samuel has either scored a touchdown or posted at least 80 receiving yards in 5 of his past 6 games. With his ability to find the end zone, as well as his consistent production, he has weekly Flex appeal for a Panthers team in need for some offensive firepower (besides Christian McCaffrey)…Josh Allen is skyrocketing up the QB ranks after posting 3 consecutive games of 18+ fantasy points. Most of his work has been on the ground those three weeks as he has 335 rushing yards and 2 scores during that time. With rushing yards counting for more than double that of passing yards, Allen may enter QB1 territory for the remainder of the season.

    48. Chase Edmonds, RB, Arizona Cardinals (2% Yahoo ownership)
    49. Demetrius Harris, TE, Kansas City Chiefs (0% Yahoo ownership)
    50. Rod Smith, RB, Dallas Cowboys (2% Yahoo ownership)

Spencer Ware (shoulder) left Sunday’s contest against Baltimore, opening the door for Damien Williams to prove his worth. And while Williams totaled just 30 yards on the day, he scored a rushing and receiving touchdown, showing KC that he has a nose for the end zone. With Ware’s availability on the short week in doubt, Williams should be a high waiver add priority this week…Jaylen Samuels received the lions share of touches out of the backfield last week for Pittsburgh, but Stevan Ridley got the goal line work and scored from 2 yards out. If James Conner misses more time, Ridley has Flex potential as a boom or bust, TD dependent option…Gus Edwards has performed admirably since taking over lead RB duties in the Ravens backfield, but on Sunday Kenneth Dixon looked to be the more dynamic player. Edwards rushed 16 times for 67 yards, while Dixon logged 9 touches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Harbaugh said he wants Dixon to be more involved, so Dixon should continue eating more into Edward’s touches.

Stream

  1. C.J. Uzomah, TE, Cincinnati Bengals (29% Yahoo ownership)
  2. New York Giants DST (29% Yahoo ownership)
  3. Detroit Lions DST (19% Yahoo ownership)
  4. Mohamed Sanu, WR, Atlanta Falcons (45% Yahoo ownership)
  5. Atlanta Falcons DST (16% Yahoo ownership)

I might just re-name this section to C.J. Uzomah. Uzomah again failed to impress last week, but he gets a juicy matchup against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday…After pummeling the Washington Redskins 40-16, the New York Giants DST faces a middling Titans offense in New York.

Others, for those of you in leagues with your grandparents and pets (50-60% Yahoo ownership)

  1. Doug Martin, RB, Oakland Raiders (52% Yahoo ownership); (10-12% FAAB)
  2. Josh Reynolds, WR, Los Angeles Rams (56% Yahoo ownership); (8-10% FAAB)
  3. Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans (59% Yahoo ownership); (6-8% FAAB)
  4. Justin Jackson, RB, Los Angeles Chargers (55% Yahoo ownership); (7-9% FAAB)
  5. Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys (57% Yahoo ownership); (4-6% FAAB)
  6. LeGarrette Blount, RB, Detroit Lions (52% Yahoo ownership); (4-6% FAAB)
  7. Theo Riddick, RB, Detroit Lions (54% Yahoo ownership); (4-6% FAAB)
  8. Duke Johnson, RB, Cleveland Browns (58% Yahoo ownership); (2-4% FAAB)
  9. John Brown, WR, Baltimore Ravens (55% Yahoo ownership); (1-2% FAAB)
  10. Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns (59% Yahoo ownership); (1-2% FAAB)
  11. Tennessee Titans DST (60% Yahoo ownership)
  12. Buffalo Bills DST (51% Yahoo ownership)

Hopefully you started Derrick Henry last week after rushing for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns. If you left him on your bench, do not drive to any bridges for the foreseeable future…With Melvin Gordon (knee) and Austin Ekeler (stinger) both questionable to play on Thursday, Justin Jackson would be a true workhorse out of the LA Chargers backfield...Dak Prescott continued his resurgence towards fantasy relevance after throwing for 455 yards and 3 scores against the Eagles. He needs to be owned in all leagues.

  • There are many myths about RedSocker45. Is he, in fact, Pedro Martinez? Is he a mathematician gone rogue? Does he have magical powers equal to Gandalf The White? In actuality, he is a normal dude that grew up in the North End of Boston and he loves being Italian, eating delicious food and the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. Myth, busted.
