2023 Fantasy Football Week 9 Trade Value Chart

Championship rosters are built with trades.

RSJ’s Jackson Barrett created a value-based drafting Excel tool to create the preseason values for this Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart. The tool uses the FantasyPros consensus projections to assign values based on a 12-team, full PPR league.

Each week throughout the season, I will alter these values to reflect the player’s value for the rest of the season. I have made changes based on the FantasyPros ECR, results from the season so far, and The Wolf’s Rest of Season Rankings. But for the most part, the below values should generally reflect consensus rankings. The values provided also allow for comparing player values across positions, not just within one position group.

Before going over player values, let’s take a look at the biggest changes to the trade value chart and some potential trade targets.

RISER

Although he didn’t rise much in terms of rankings, Joe Burrow had a massive rebound game on Sunday. With a dominant victory over San Francisco and a 27.6 fantasy performance, it’s safe to say that Joe Burrow is back.

For the first time this season, Burrow looked fully healthy. Burrow was able to maneuver in the pocket as well as pick up several first downs with his legs. There was no shortage of phenomenal plays from Burrow in Week 8.

There’s not much to say from a metric or analytics perspective. This was simply a vintage Joe Burrow performance. Burrow is one of the league’s best quarterbacks and he’s finally looking like it.

FALLERS

Another devastating week for quarterbacks in terms of injuries. Most notably, Week 8 made victims of Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford. Stafford suffered a thumb injury while Cousins is done for the season with a torn Achilles.

Both of these injuries have far-reaching implications. Regarding Cousins and the Vikings, the outlook is not as bleak. Their starting QB is finished for the year but Minnesota has decided to try to save the season by trading for Josh Dobbs. This is big for Vikings’ pass catchers as this is a massive step up from Jaren Hall, who was in line to fill in at QB.

The situation in Los Angeles is quite different. First, Stafford will be back in a matter of weeks, although an IR stint is still realistic. However, this means Brett Rypien will be starting for the Rams for the foreseeable future. This is not great for Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, who have dominated with Stafford.

Both offenses will be heavily impacted by the loss of their quarterback. The loss of Cousins and Stafford also makes the pool of fantasy-viable quarterbacks a whole lot scarier.

TRADE TARGET

I will have to take a moment to once again mention Kyler Murray, my trade target from Week 8. If you are struggling at QB, trade for him or grab him from the waiver wire before he returns.

In an effort to not discuss Murray once again, I’d like to highlight Russell Wilson as a potential trade target.

Although Wilson, Sean Payton, and the Broncos have been the butt of many jokes, Wilson’s performance is undeniable.

Wilson is more than capable of delivering QB1 performances and even finished with 20.7 points against a premier defense in Kansas City. Wilson’s play has him as the QB11 at this point in the year.

With a bye in Week 9, Wilson should have a slightly reduced price. Fantasy managers should certainly consider scooping up Wilson for the home stretch of the fantasy season. From Weeks 14-17, Wilson has several premium matchups. Wilson faces the Chargers twice as well as the Lions. The Chargers allow the most fantasy points to QBs while the Lions allow the 6th most.
