Hello folks, welcome to a new addition in our DFS rotation where we look at the DraftKings Week 6 sleepers and value plays that can help take your lineups to the next level. Here, we take a look at some guys you can round out your roster with after spending up for the Derrick Henrys and the Davante Adamses of the slate.
Generally, I would consider value plays as QBs under $6k, RBs under $6k, WRs under $5k, and TEs under $4k.
QUARTERBACK
Taylor Heinicke $5,800
Playing in the highest projected game total in Week 6, it’s a tall task asking Taylor Heinicke to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs this week. Luckily though, the Chiefs’ defense and secondary have been extremely inadequate and allow points to opponents at a very generous rate. Heinicke has shown that he can hang around in big games and put the team on his back while racking up solid numbers. He’s scored over 20 fantasy points in three of five games this year and has a plus matchup staring him in the face in a potential shootout.
RUNNING BACKS
Darrel Williams $4,900
Darrel Williams will be the Chiefs’ RB1 in place of an injured Clyde Edwards-Helaire for at least the next three weeks. The RB1 role in Kansas City is extremely valuable in a high-scoring offense that should be scoring at will this week against a struggling Washington defense. The lone competition Williams has in the backfield would be Jerick McKinnon, who has never handled a feature role. Williams can be penciled in for roughly 15 to 20 touches and will be the preferred rusher down at the goal line.
Khalil Herbert $4,600
Big news dropped on Thursday that Bears RB Damien Williams was placed on the COVID list which will likely keep him out of this week’s game against the Packers. With David Montgomery already hurt and Tarik Cohen still on PUP, that leaves Khalil Herbert as the guy this week for Chicago. He surprisingly played 52 percent of the offensive snaps last week and carried the ball 18 times for 75 yards. He could see similar if not more usage this week, with hopefully some receiving work mixed in for bonus points.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Rondale Moore $4,600
After a Week 2 explosion, Moore fell back to Earth with two single-digit fantasy outputs. Last week, his usage went back up as he finished with five receptions for 59 yards on 6 targets. Moore should be in line for additional work this week, as TE Maxx Williams landed on IR, and Kyler Murray is dealing with a shoulder injury to his throwing shoulder. If Murray is limited in what he can do, that should lead to more screens and shorter routes for guys like Moore to take full advantage of their skill and YAC ability. Moore has a high ceiling this week in a big matchup with the Browns.
Darnell Mooney $4,300
Darnell Mooney let us down last week, but the matchup and situation for the young wideout look very solid for a player at this price. Star CB Jaire Alexander landed on IR, which is a huge blow to the Packers’ secondary. The Bears are also without RB1 Damien Williams, as we mentioned above which could tilt the game script more in favor of the passing game. With Justin Fields under center, Mooney is out-targeting Allen Robinson 16-14 which doesn’t look crazy at surface level, but Robinson is considered a top-tier WR and he’s losing the target share competition to Mooney.
TIGHT END
Ricky Seals-Jones $3,000
The loss of Logan Thomas puts RSJ (great name) into TE1 territory for this shootout against the Chiefs. The former college WR is super talented and last game he went for 5-41 on 8 targets. RSJ should see even more work now with plenty of points on the horizon in the highest total game of the slate. He makes for a great stack if you target the KC/WAS game.
