Fantasy Football Week 5 Tight End Streamers: Evan Engram, Hunter Henry Lead the Wasteland

Could Evan Engram or Hunter Henry crack double-digits in Week 5?

With NFL Week 5 kicking off last night, many managers, including myself are looking for a solid tight end to plug into their lineup this weekend. If you don’t have the luxury of owning Travis Kelce or Darren Waller, you’ve been left with some uncertainty in your lineup week to week.

Here are my top tight end fantasy football streamers available in a minimum of 50% of leagues:

Evan Engram, New York Giants (29.3% rostered)

Evan Engram has never been what we hoped for, but the fifth-year player has seen six targets in each of his starts this season. Although he hasn’t been able to break out a big play he always has the chance when he actually catches the ball.

Let’s all hope for this when plugging him into our lineups.

Engram gets a favorable matchup against the Cowboys who rank 25th against tight ends this season. If Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton miss another week, Engram can slide into your lineups with the hope for 4 plus receptions and a touchdown.

Hunter Henry, New England Patriots (35%)

The New England Patriots’ tight end room has failed to wow us like most expected after their major off-season acquisitions of Jonnu Smith and Henry. Both tight ends were able to find pay-dirt last week in their loss to the Buccaneers.

Hunter Henry has seen a 74 percent snap share through the first four weeks and four or more targets since Week 2. With Mac Jones finding his stride and a juicy matchup against the Texans I would be more than happy plugging him into my lineup this week.

Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings, (20.7%)

Tyler Conklin is my favorite boom-or-bust tight end candidate this week. After the Vikings were mauled by the Browns defense last week they get the opportunity to go back to their home field and beat up on the 0-4 Lions.

Conklin has seen the field on 76.2 percent of snaps this season following the injury to third-year breakout candidate Irv Smith. Conklin has seen four or more targets in each of his starts and had a 20 point breakout against the Seahawks in week three. With the Vikings in desperate need of a division win, Conklin should be a major part of this Vikings offense. Plug him in and hope for another Week 3 performance.
