DeVante Parker’s Fantasy WR1 Value Can No Longer be Questioned

It only took a few years, but DeVante Parker is finally becoming the fantasy star we always hoped he'd be.

A couple weeks ago, I gave you a heads up that DeVante Parker was emerging from the dead and becoming a fantasy-relevant option in Miami for the first time in his career. In 2 games since, he’s caught 13 passes for 250 yards and 2 TDs, with both scores coming in Sunday’s surprising win over Philly. Parker has now been targeted 10+ times in each of his last 4 games and 5 of his last 7, which means no matter how low Miami’s offense may sink, Parker will continue to be a strong WR option through the end of the season.

We’ve waited years for Parker to finally look like a 1st round pick, and amidst what’s been primarily a lost season in Miami, we’re finally seeing him figure it out. He topped his career-high in yardage from 2 weeks ago with 159 against the Eagles, also putting up his first multi-TD game as a pro. In fact, his 2 TDs against Philadelphia matches his TD total from the entire 2017 and 2018 seasons COMBINED. Call him a late bloomer, a flash in a pan, or simply a guy who doesn’t want to tank, but it’s becoming impossible to deny that Parker has emerged as a legitimate fantasy option in the most important part of the season.

With matchups against the Jets, Giants, and Bengals to finish out the year, Parker could very well continue his torrid stretch and be the piece that wins you a fantasy championship. He could also just as easily devolve back into his old self and tank your team at the worst possible time. Isn’t fantasy fun?
