Sifting Through the Fantasy Garbage to Replace George Kittle (Knee) and Austin Hooper (MCL) in Week 11

Fantasy's thinnest position will be (likely) missing two of its better players in Week 11.

The thinnest and most pathetic position in fantasy is about to get even thinner and more pathetic in Week 11. With Austin Hooper (MCL) and George Kittle (knee) all but officially ruled out for this weekend, their owners will be forced to blindly throw a dart at the tight end waiver wire in hopes for a couple of grabs and a touchdown.

Based off The Wolf’s Week 11 Rankings and roughly 50 percent availability in Yahoo leagues, here are some decent streamers (and a stash) to take a stab at:

  • Darren Fells (53% owned) comes in at our TE10 (+10 vs ECR) for his matchup against the Ravens. Fells has averaged 8.5 fantasy points per game since Week 3 and has six touchdown grabs on the season
  • OJ Howard (46%) finally woke up after getting a dose of the best medicine a tight end could receive… the Cardinals. Howard will look to build on his one touchdown performance against the Saints, who will likely be without Marshon Lattimore. Howard is our TE12 (-1)
  • Jack Doyle (47%) will get Jacoby Brissett back this week after putting up touchdowns in back-to-back games. Fellow tight end Eric Ebron led the Colts with 12 targets, but Doyle always carries TD upside
  • Tyler Eifert (10%) is the grossest of this bunch but The Wolf is somehow +5 vs the ECR on Eifert, at his TE14. He has a favorable matchup against the Raiders, but the Bengals offense should be relegated to the XFL
  • A creature named Ross Dwelley (5%) will start in place of Kittle against the ultra-pathetic Cardinals defense. Dwelley would’ve been completely off the fantasy radar if it weren’t for his matchup, but with Kittle in street clothes, he was targeted seven times in Week 10
  • Last time we saw Noah Fant (27%), he was ending the Browns season prior to his bye week. Fant is coming off a 19 pt game and might be gaining momentum with Brandon Allen. He gets a tough matchup with the Vikings defense.
  • Bonus Week 12 Stash: Russell Wilson peppered Jacob Hollister (26%) 10 times on MNF, resulting in a 8-62-1 line. With the Seahawks on the bye this week, Hollister is the best case scenario if you’re planning ahead to Week 12. If he’s available and you’re a Hooper owner, stash Hollister and you’ll be thanking me later

As of Thursday, Hooper is set to miss a month and potentially the remainder of the fantasy season. On the other hand, Kyle Shanahan ruled Kittle out for Week 11, then backtracked and is now keeping the door [somewhat] open.

Spare me the bullshit. We’ll be without both star tight ends in Week 11.
