Darren Waller Remains a Fantasy Force, Quality Candidate for Fantasy Value of the Year

Darren Waller has transformed himself from Hardknocks hero into fantasy season-winner.

Hardknocks star Darren Waller has to be one of the few nobodies in Hardknocks history to make something of himself on the field after flashing during the HBO series. With lunatic Antonio Brown forcing his way out of Oakland (that seems like 5 years ago) and Tyrell Williams on the shelf, Waller has been Derek Carr’s go-to guy through the air.

As of today in half PPR scoring, Waller has the second most fantasy points by a tight end — trailing only Austin Hooper. Yes, that means he’s outscoring the likes of Travis Kelce, Evan Engram, Zach Ertz, and George Kittle.

After a 7-126-2, 31 point explosion against the Packers, it’s safe to say the tight end has been one of fantasy’s best values of the 2019 season and will likely be a finalist for a Roto Award.

Waller is up to TE3 on The Wolf’s Rest of Season Big Board, behind only Kittle and Kelce. So, if you took a late-round Hardknocks-induced flier or scooped him off the Waiver Wire, congrats.
