Terry McLaurin Locked-in as Redskins WR1, Weekly Fantasy WR3

Terry McLaurin is one of only two WRs to net over half his team's Air Yards. As the clear No.1 on a team that'll constantly be playing from behind, McLaurin will be an every-week fantasy asset.

After a monster NFL debut, Redskins WR Terry McLaurin continued  impressing in Week 2. Despite squaring off with top CB Byron Jones, McLaurin still managed 5 catches, 62 yards, and 1 TD on nine looks; he’s now the first rookie since Calvin Johnson to notch 60+ yards and a TD over his first two games. Most importantly, he’s been an every-down asset, playing on 90.3% of snaps, all while notching PFF’s fifth-highest grade (82.4) at the position. He’s clearly Washington’s top WR and an every-week fantasy asset.

Needless to say: McLaurin was a steal in Round 3, and off the Waiver Wire in fantasy. Along with Keenan Allen, Scary Terry is one of only two WRs to see over half of his team’s Air Yards (285) — further emphasizing his monstrous role here.

If you’ve watched any Redskins tape, McLaurin’s heavy-involvement shouldn’t surprise. He’s flashed his 4.35 forty on deep balls, won contested 1-on-1s, and is showing crisp intermediate routes. Late against the Cowboys, McLaurin was targeted on four straight Red Zone throws, converting a fourth down and hauling in a back-shoulder score over Jones.

In short, he’s been the consummate target-hog.

Indeed, McLaurin’s rapport with Case Keenum has been stellar. Don’t worry if he’s benched, though, as the good times may only improve. Backup Dwayne Haskins played at OSU with Terry, and only has rave reviews:

“Whoever asked me in the interview process who I would take out of my three guys, no disrespect to any of them because they’re all great, I just felt like me and Terry’s chemistry was something I’ve never really had before with anybody else,” Haskins said. “I told every team I would want Terry to come with me if I had the opportunity. I’m blessed enough to have him come here with me.”

Somehow, McLaurin is still only 63% owned. This needs to be 100%. He’s the real fantasy deal, and will only continue to thrive as the clear top-dog on a team that’ll trail more often than not.
