Ronald Jones Looks to Shake off ‘Bust’ Label and Become Fantasy’s Biggest Bargain

Will Ronald Jones bounce-back from a pathetic rookie season?

Holy shit, Ronald Jones made me look like a moron last season. But wait… I’m here to double-down on the former USC star. Now, don’t go back and judge his pathetic 44 yards on 23 carries last season. He was embarrassing and just didn’t look ready for the NFL as a 20-year old child. However, it looks like Jones is headed in the right direction after a strong offseason that garnered rave reviews from multiple members of the Bucs organization — including GM Jason Licht. With the plodding Peyton Barber as his only competition, the more-talented Jones has a chance to win the job under the new coaching staff and become one of fantasy’s biggest bargains of 2019.

“I would say RoJo has been showing out,” Jameis Winston said of Jones, per The Athletic’s Greg Auman. “His confidence, his comfort, RoJo’s a smart guy. He’s getting comfortable in this offense. No one is breathing down his neck. He’s more relaxed and executing at a high level.”

Sure, this could be a simple confidence boosting tactic by the quarterback who eats W’s to pump up his squad, but it’s more than what was said last season about the second round pick.

With a new coaching staff led by Bruce Arians, RoJo was given a much-needed fresh start that should place him neck-and-neck with Barber to win the starting job during training camp. Silly Wolf has Barber as his RB36, a whopping +13 vs the ECR, while Jones is down at his RB42 — making him a legitimate Penny Stock.

May the better of these two backs win this crucial starting gig.
