2025 NFL TRAINING CAMP NEWS (8/2)

TORY HORTON EARNS 1ST TEAM REPS IN SEATTLE

Rookie wide receiver Tory Horton is turning heads at Seahawks training camp, and fast. The fifth-rounder out of Colorado State has been running with the first-team offense and wasted no time making his presence felt.

On Friday, Horton stole the show with a string of highlight-reel plays, including a slick toe-tap along the sideline, a tough mid-air adjustment, and a filthy double-move that left his defender in the dust. The cherry on top? A touchdown grab on a dart in the back of the end zone from Sam Darnold that had the crowd buzzing.

Horton racked up over 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns in back-to-back seasons at Colorado State, and the only reason he slid in the draft was a knee injury that limited him to just six games in 2024. But based on the early camp reports, that injury seems to be firmly in the rearview mirror. Horton looks healthy, and more importantly, explosive, going up against a Seattle defense that’s no joke.

He’s going mostly undrafted in Underdog Best Ball drafts right now, but that might not last long. With only Jaxon Smith-Njigba locked into a significant role in Seattle’s passing game, Horton has a clear path to compete for the WR2 spot against Cooper Kupp. Don’t be surprised when Horton gets a bump in The Wolf’s 2025 Fantasy Rankings. This could be one of those late-round rookie darts that hits.

RJ HARVEY ENTERS SEAN PAYTON’S GOLDMINE ‘JOKER’ ROLE

Broncos rookie RJ Harvey is making serious waves in training camp, so much so that Sean Payton is now eyeing him for the coveted Joker role in his offense. For those unfamiliar, the Joker spot has long been a fantasy goldmine in Payton’s system, reserved for rare pass-catching backs or tight ends who create matchup nightmares (think Alvin Kamara, Darren Sproles, Jimmy Graham).

Payton’s been searching for his Denver version since arriving in 2023, and Harvey may finally be the guy to bring that vision to life. With only Evan Engram standing in the way for touches in that hybrid role, Harvey could sneak into a significant role on this offense.

The Wolf is already ahead of the curve, ranking Harvey as RB20 — five spots higher than consensus. If Harvey secures that Joker designation, his PPR ceiling could skyrocket. He’s explosive, versatile, and now sitting in one of the most fantasy-friendly roles Payton has ever designed. Don’t be surprised if Harvey ends up being one of the biggest steals in 2025 fantasy football drafts.
