Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart Week 7: Wide Receivers

Championships are won with trades.

RSJ’s Jackson Barrett created a value-based drafting Excel tool to create the preseason values for this Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart. The tool uses the FantasyPros consensus projections to assign values based on a 12-team, full PPR league.

Each week throughout the season, these values will be altered to reflect the player’s value for the rest of the season. Changes made to player’s value will be based on FantasyPros Rest of Season ECR, results from the season thus far, and The Wolf’s Rest of Season Rankings. But for the most part, the below values should generally reflect consensus rankings. The values provided also allow for comparing player values across positions, not just within one positional group.

For more information on how to make successful deals, check out our strategies for negotiating trades.

Be sure to tune back each week throughout the season. We’ll be adjusting the chart, discussing risers & fallers, and pinpointing trade targets.

The trade value chart for each position is linked below.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Trade Value Chart: Wide Receivers

Wide Receiver Riser

After one game without Nico Collins on the field, it became clear that Tank Dell isn’t “bad”, he was just playing behind arguably the most talented receiver in the NFL. Tank Dell had a season-high nine targets, seven receptions, and 18.7 PPR points in Week 6.

Last week, Dell’s role was far closer to what we saw in his rookie campaign. He was targeted on 28 percent of his routes and accounted for 32 percent of the air yards delivered by C.J. Stroud. Based on his usage, Dell was expected to score a whopping 24.3 PPR points last week.

Obviously, Dell’s high-end fantasy value has an expiration date. Realistically, that expiration date could be more than a month away. At this point in the season, four-plus weeks of WR2 production is invaluable.

Wide Receiver Faller

UPDATE: Well, Cooper has since been traded to the Bills. This is reflected in the chart and he becomes a respectable Flex option.

What do you even do with Amari Cooper at this point? It doesn’t take a whole lot of hard-hitting fantasy analysis to realize what the issue is. It’s Deshaun Watson.

Cooper has now scored 10 or fewer PPR points in five games this season. In no world is that a player who belongs in starting lineups. The quarterback play just simply isn’t strong enough to support fantasy-relevant pass catchers.

Shockingly, the Browns remain committed to Watson for Week 7. Is Kevin Stefanki being forced to keep him as the starter? He denies it, but this sure looks and sounds like someone who’s being forced to start the worst quarterback in the NFL.

Until something changes at quarterback, Cooper cannot be considered for starting lineups.

Wide Receiver Trade Target

D.K. Metcalf was highlighted as a trade target in last week’s post. After another week with less than 10 PPR points, the window remains open. Let’s quickly look at a few near-miss plays that kept Metcalf in the single digits.

Based on the looks Metcalf saw in Week 6, he was the WR1 in expected fantasy points on the week. Across the full season, he’s the WR5 in expected fantasy points per game.

Metcalf is an alpha receiver in an offense that is running 45 passing plays per game. He will be a high-end WR1 in the coming weeks, scoop him up before he starts performing to expectations
