The Cowboys boast one of, if not the top, wide receiver room in the league. But with Amari Cooper dealing with COVID-19 and CeeDee Lamb suffering a concussion last week, the team could be down to a trio of Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, and Noah Brown on the perimeter for their Thanksgiving matchup against the Raiders. Even with Lamb trending upwards, Wilson will likely get the starting nod with Cooper definitely out of the lineup. Currently rostered in only 22 percent of leagues, Wilson is a top Week 12 fantasy streamer for teams in need of a wide receiver.
Coming off a seven-target game with Cooper out of the lineup and Lamb out for roughly half of the snaps, expect Wilson to be one of Dak Prescott’s top targets this week. Out of 66 total snaps in Week 11, Wilson tied Brown with 42 snaps and 31 routes run. But, he out-targeted Brown seven to two. The third-year receiver also saw seven targets against New England in Week 6 (with Gallup out) and has seen 22 targets over his last four games played.
While one wouldn’t expect him to be showered in targets, he has big-play ability with a 78.3 percent snap rate out of the slot. As shown below, he can make plays down the field and can also make noise after the catch.
“Cedrick Wilson is a hell of a player,” said Mike McCarthy after the receiver’s career-best Week 8 performance. “I can’t say enough about him. He’s outstanding.”
Even with Lamb in the lineup, Wilson should still see a decent volume of targets. This week, he gets an average Raiders’ passing defense that has allowed 18 touchdown passes this season and has been on the decline over the past few weeks. Expect the Cowboys’ offense to get back on track at home on Thanksgiving.
As of Wednesday, Wilson lands at WR47 (+1 vs ECR) on The Wolf’s Week 12 Fantasy Rankings. Check back Thursday morning before lineup lock to see where he ends up. He’s also a very solid DraftKings play at $3,500.
