NFL Week 6 DFS: Bucs vs Eagles DraftKings TNF Showdown Picks, Strategy

Smash the TNF Showdown Slate with a mix of running backs.

Before we hop into this NFL Week 6 DFS DraftKings TNF Showdown breakdown, my name is Rich Xenos (rxendaddy on DraftKings) and I’ve been playing DFS since 2018. I’ve been a big fan of RSJ since the jump and I am excited to contribute to the DraftKings Showdown slates.

We have another solid TNF match-up tonight between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles. This game should be interesting for showdowns since the Bucs have so many different options offensively.

SHOWDOWN CAPTAIN STRATEGY

I like the idea of anchoring lineups with Leonard Fournette ($11,700) as the Captain. I think there’s a good chance Tampa runs the ball a good amount tonight. Philly has not been great against the run and also we don’t know how bad the injury is for Brady’s thumb on his throwing hand.

For a secondary Captain option, I actually like going all the way down to Kenneth Gainwell ($2,400/ $3,600) because he opens up a lot of salary space to get the two quarterbacks and other studs in your lineup. Gainwell was practically nonexistent last week but the two previous weeks he had seen a combined 12 targets which are more than enough to get there at his price.

I also really like Zach Ertz ($3,200/ $4,800) as a potential Captain too. With Goedert out Thursday night, I expect Ertz to be peppered with targets and at his price, he is arguably the safest play on the slate.

SHOWDOWN FLEX STRATEGY

It is a tough slate to take a stand on one of the studs, but if I had to choose one it would probably be Mike Evans ($10,200). His price is right about where you would expect it to be but in order for him to be worth his price, he has to find the end zone twice, which he is more than capable of but on these Showdowns you have to make tough cuts sometimes. The more lineups you make, the more you can play Evans.

If I had to choose the safest option of Tampa’s big three wideouts, I’d have to go with Chris Godwin ($9,400), he has the highest floor and has the softest price tag of the three in my opinion. I also like Antonio Brown ($8,200) but he is the biggest boom or bust candidate and DK is finally starting to bump his price up accordingly.

I also like Miles Sanders ($6,600) if you need someone a little cheaper. He has been underwhelming but I expect the Eagles to be down early and throw the ball a ton — which should benefit both Sanders and Gainwell. Ryan Succop ($4,200) is another interesting play to me that I like if you need another cheaper option.

SUMMARY & BEST BET

My overall game plan is to Captain Fournette and get both Gainwell and Ertz in my lineup to play both quarterbacks, as well as Godwin, if possible. I definitely will fill in AB, Sanders, and Succop too as needed.

The total in this game is 52. I really think Vegas realizes the average bettor is not taking into account the fact both teams are going on only three or four days rest and for that reason, I like the under. Nonetheless, I still expect a lot of action and think it should be a fun slate. My favorite prop bet is Fournette to score a TD at any time at even money at most books.

I think we should get a pretty decent game tonight, best of luck.
