Jamison Crowder Boasts Massive 2020 Fantasy Football PPR Upside as Jets Target-Hog

If Sam Darnold can stay on the field, 100-plus receptions should be the floor for Jamison Crowder.

Jamison Crowder might be one of the unsexier names in fantasy football, but he is shaping up to becoming a 2020 fantasy football steal. Crowder signed with the Jets in 2019 and was a double-digit pick we recommended to owners based on his target-hog PPR status in Washington. Responded with 78 grabs for 833 yards and six touchdowns on 122 targets. Despite all of the Jets drama, it was a very solid year for Crowder. Looking forward, he was the clear offseason winner for the Jets offense with the departure of Robby Anderson and the team only bringing in Breshad Perriman and Denzel Mims.

Fast forward to training camp and it comes to the surprise of nobody that Crowder has been sticking out as the Jets best receiver.

“The wide receiver situation isn’t great for the Jets,” wrote Charles McDonald, New York Daily News. “Jamison Crowder is very clearly the best wide receiver for Gang Green.”

Even though Crowder said he doesn’t feel like Sam Darnold’s go-to guy, he’s the most productive of the bunch.

“I just know my role,” Crowder said. “That’s a valuable option for Sam in the slot. Like I said, we got a lot of different talents, different skill sets in the receiving room this year.”

What we do know is Darnold and Crowder developed chemistry last season and Anderson’s departure opens up an additional bevy of targets for Crowder and co.

If Darnold can go a whole season without getting a venereal disease, Crowder should easily hit the 100-reception mark and continue to be a PPR monster. People forget Crowder burst onto the fantasy scene last year when he vacuumed up 14 of his 17 targets in Week 1.

Crowder currently sits as The Wolf’s WR42 on his 2020 Fantasy Football Rankings. That’s actually three spots lower than the current ECR, but four spots above his current ADP. Like we said before, he’s more of an unsexy name at this point compared to guys like Mecole Hardman, Ceedee Lamb, and Jalen Reagor in that WR range, but his weekly consistency will be there.
