Repeat After Me: I Will Never Trust Ronald Jones in Fantasy Again

We were once again fooled by Bruce Arians and Ronald Jones... Never again.

Ah, we’re back again to discuss the most annoying and frustrating player in fantasy, Ronald Jones. I’ve flipped-flopped and written about the Bucs’ second year back just about a million times now and I’m here to put the dagger into ever trusting Jones again. All great things must come to an end, and the end is here for Jones as long as he’s in a Buccaneers’ uniform. After missing a pass blocking assignment, he entered Bruce Arians’ doghouse and was never allowed out to play for the rest of the day — finishing with a season-low eight yards on six carries.

This could have been a huge day for Jones, as the Jags’ run defense has been hideous this season. Instead, it was the disgusting Peyton Barber who fell into the end zone twice and ruined (my DraftKings lineup) the day for Jones’ owners.

“He works his ass off, and he’s going to get better at it,” Arians said. “But we need him running the football. But you can’t run the football if you can’t protect the quarterback.”

It’s likely he’ll get another crack at the starting gig before the season is over, but he shouldn’t sniff any fantasy playoff lineups in 2019. It’s too hard to trust someone who is on such a short leash with the coaching staff.

We’ll see you in 2020, sweet prince.
