Derrius Guice Shows Fantasy Freight Train Potential, Explodes Against Panthers

Derrius Guice finally looked like the fantasy horse that we've all been waiting for.

The Panthers have been hapless against the run all season and it was never more prevalent than when Derrius Guice emasculated them on Sunday. The oft-injured Guice showed off his rare combination of freakish power and breakaway speed for the first time in his career when he gashed the Panthers all afternoon long.

Fantasy faithful that patiently waited for Guice to breakout all season were finally rewarded.  A once proud defense in Carolina was once again smoked on the ground to the tune of Guice’s 10 carry, 129 yard and two touchdown performance. The former LSU Tiger made his presence felt, even while sharing the backfield with old man Adrian Peterson.

The second year back was still out-carried by Peterson as the Redskins are wisely easing Guice back into duty. Therefore, Guice can’t be 100 percent trusted to be a fantasy stallion going forward. Still, he can reasonably expect 10-14 touches, which should be more than enough to maintain good fantasy production. He gets a very favorable matchup against the Packers, followed by decent matchups at home against the Eagles and Giants to wrap up the fantasy season.
