Josh Jacobs Runs Over Bears, Quietly Becoming an Every Week Fantasy RB2

Josh Jacobs basically became the King of England over the weekend.

The Raiders were supposed to be a laughingstock of the highest degree this season.  Only the Cardinals and the Dolphins were listed below Oakland in predicted win totals before the season, but right now (and i can’t believe I’m saying this) it seems like we weren’t giving Jon Gruden and his boys enough credit.  One of the biggest reasons for this unlikely turnaround?  Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs had 30 touches in Week 5 as the Raiders graced the good people of London with their presence.  He rushed 26 times for 123 yards (scoring twice) and added 3 receptions that went for another 20.  Jacobs has truly become the focal point of a Raiders’ offense that has overachieved in almost every possible way.  He has demonstrated the ability to make would-be tacklers miss, and he has the tendency to fall forward after contact which nets the team positive yardage again and again.

It seems clear that Jacobs is settling in as a solid play as an RB2 moving forward, and as he continues to prove he can catch the ball he could see even more action as the season progresses.  If we are lucky enough to see another performance like this one the next time the Raiders play ‘cross the pond, there could be a knighthood in Jacobs’s future too.
