Cooper Kupp is a Top-5 Fantasy WR, and I Won’t Hear Otherwise

Despite tearing his ACL last season, Cooper Kupp is suddenly on pace to finish 2019 as fantasy's top-WR. Will it continue?

Once again, Cooper Kupp reminded fantasy owners that he could finish as 2019’s top WR. For the fourth straight week, Kupp paced the Rams in targets, this time with a whopping 17. He turned this into 9 catches, 117 yards, and a TD — his third straight 9/100 game in a row.

A season after tearing his ACL, Kupp has become the Rams passing-game engine. Shockingly, he “timed better” in every athletic test following his ACL tear, as Jay Glazer wrote:

“All his test scores, coming out of his breaks, agility, quickness, every test timed better than it was before he tore his ACL… It’s incredible.”

More importantly, the results are clearly translating on the field. Kupp is getting wide-open at will, especially in the short and intermediate game. Like a souped up Julian Edelman, Kupp is becoming Jared Goff’s go-to-guy, especially under duress. He’s been a beast after the catch, and there’s little reason to expect a slow-down.

As such, Kupp looks he’ll go down as one of 2019’s ultimate steals. He has joined the Fantasy Elite WRs, alongside Julio Jones, Keenan Allen, DeAndre Hopkins, and Michael Thomas.
