Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings (2019, Updated)

The fantasy season is still young, but Week 3 is crucial to separate yourself from the pack or make up some ground in the standings.

Have you been riding the Lamar Jackson Cheat Code to a 2-0 start? Or have you angered the fantasy Gods and been punished to a 1-1 or even *gasp* 0-2 start? Regardless, now isn’t the time to celebrate nor panic. I’ve been 4-0 and watched teams crumble, and I’ve been 1-5 and won the whole thing. Keep those eyes forward, and dominate the present with our Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings (2019).

Below, find my rankings as well as the Week 3 Rankings Rundown to hear my thoughts on the process, who I’m higher and lower on, and more. I’ll also keep a running “Updates Log” of the news you need to know heading into Week 3.

If you have any specific lineup questions, please let me know. While rankings are helpful, many factors are at play that can cause a change. For example, you may be an underdog, and starting a “boom-or-bust” player is more appealing for your lineup versus a surefire 7 or 8 points.

As a reminder: these Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings  are based on 1/2 PPR, 4 Pt Passing TD Scoring.

Week 3 Updates:

  • Josh Jacobs has reportedly lost 10 lbs due to sickness, and was already dealing with a groin issue. All this, mixed in with a tougher matchup versus MINN, have me lowering my Week 3 stance on him.
  • Devin Singletary is still not practicing as of Thursday. If he sits, Frank Gore‘s already-high streaming appeal shoots through the roof. He’s 38% owned.
  • Marlon Mack is still not practicing. Jordan Wilkins (4% owned) is the immediate big-back alternate, although Nyheim Hines (28%) would be where I turn considering how the Falcons bleed receptions to RBs. Mack owners must stay on top of this.

Saturday

  • Antonio Brown is no longer a Patriot. Obviously, this clears up significant looks for Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon. With the Pats 20+ point favorites though, the risk with both is an early blow out that limits the passing volume.
  • Alshon Jeffery is suddenly expected to give it a go. Nelson Agholor is still my preferred option, as Jeffery could flare up early.
  • Devin Singletary has been ruled out. Frank Gore has legit 2+ TD upside, and is a huge value on DraftKings ($4400), and is my RB20 for the week.

Sunday

  • Correction: Alshon Jeffery is now “unlikely to play,” according to Schefter (at 1:39am). Meanwhile, Dallas Goedert is looking “surprisingly better” and is a true gametime decision. Regardless, fire up Nelson Agholor as the ideal stream this week. Meanwhile, JJ Arcega-Whiteside should be stashed in case the vacated volume helps him flash his true upside, which is limitless.
  • In the least shocking news of our lifetime, Jordan Reed remains out, and it “could be weeks” until he returns. If you were hanging onto him for any reason… check your sanity and send him packing. Now.
  • Mark Andrews was labeled “50/50” for Week 3, but is now expected to play according to Rapsheet. Fire up the current No.1 TE in fantasy
  • The bigger concern in the epic KC and Baltimore showdown might be the weather here, as the forecast calls for torrential rain. The ground is apparently already saturated, so this might not be the high powered showing we all had hoped for.
  • Rashaad Penny is expected to SIT. Chris Carson now has a much-needed longer leash after he was pulled for fumbling in Week 2. He should dominate touches and GL work, and is a steal at $5900.
  • Cam Newton is out… which might honestly be an upgrade for their pass catchers because Cam sucks.
  • James White will be out as his wife is expected to give birth. Make sure he finds the bench. If you’re now desperate for a streamer and missed on Gore, look to Rex Burkhead (16%) could be an option.
